And do not call me ignorant, when I believe there is a great chance of me having a better understanding of music than you... just saying.
Back down jr. If you want to go around throwing your glam metal **** around I'll tango with you in the music department any day. You barely lived through the 90s much less the 80s...
Wow, that is a combination of 60, 70 and 80's bands. ABBA was big in the 70's, and Beach Boys were 60's, and I noticed you never mentioned Devo, a very popular 80's band.
Thank you sir.
As for my favorite 80s band. I would have to say Death.
Skid Row was a great band. Metallica and AC/DC were also great in the 80s. Very hard decision. I would have to say either U2 or Aerosmith, because both bands just dominated the 80s musical landscape, and are still huge today.
its true they were at their best in the 80's however Kill 'Em All is their best album and they never really improved on any of their stuff.
my fav 80's band is also my favorite band over all (those who know me already know who that is ) that would be Iron Maiden. they were at their best in the 80's Bruce was at the peek of his singing career. Steve wrote unbeetable songs. Dave and Adrean had their most face-melting solos. and their live stuff was unforgetable.
I see a lot if not everybody in this thread are choosing the hard rock and metal 80's bands. Love those bands, but I'm going to have to go with a rockabilly group, the Stray Cats. Such an underrated band. And Brian Setzer's solo work with his orchestra afterwards was awesome.
I'm more into the Alternative, and Classic Rock, so 70's and 90's. U2 is cool, and so is Journey. I think Kansas was an 80's band. And than GNR, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith are all really good as well.
kansas's prime was in the 70's but they had i think one or two records in the 80's.
I thought REM was a 90's Band?
REM and husker du are probably the most influentail bands to the music industry overall in the 80's. REM did have a hit in the 90s but theyre music is mainly from the 80s
