I've been dissapointed now for two years in a row. Last year Uncharted wins. (sorry uncharted fans but we Xbox owners don't happen to play PS3 exclusives) Then this year Red Dead Redemption beats Halo Reach (oh and Black Ops). WTF?! How is Red Dead better than Reach? This is an outrage. I will find the people who are responsible for this, then strap them down to tables. I will then burn off their little game of the year picker toes. Next I will shoot nails into their arms. Finally I will shove chopsticks all the way through their eyes.
That was a bit too.....violent? Creepy? Anyways, the only award that made me happy was Action Adventure game of the year which was won by Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
So what did you think of the results? Do you want to burn some toes off too?
oh and even that website is fairly unconstant. 70 reviews on gow3 vs. 50 reviews on RDR. makes sense that RDR has a tiny bit higher of a percent with theres 20 less reviews.
God of war was a great game. I never really liked any of them though, until I played God of war. I can see how God of War 3 deserves the VGA. It has excellent graphics, great game-play, very fun and I liked all the action.
For me though I would pick Red Dead Redemption. I always liked all those kind of games were I can just roam around and do whatever I want.
Exactly why I like it. It's a new story in the series. I love that it's a western with new things. Horses, weapons all that good stuff. I played the zombie one at my friends house and I thought it was good too.

its literally just a western copy of GTA. and theres been TONS of GTA's.
But it's a good copy of GTA. And I prefer Western more than modern any day. And GotY doesn't really depend on Originality.
IGN has released there separate console GotYs. PS3: Heavy Rain 360: Mass Effect 2 Wii: Mario Galaxy 2
its a good copy of GTA yes but its gameplay is starting to become overused, it was overused like 3 years ago. i just dont think a virtual copy of a game deserves a game of the year award.
