This is a thread for all the atheist here. If all religions were proven wich would you choose. You can't choose one of those satirical (don't know if that's an actual word) religion like Pastafarianism, it has to be a legit religion.
I can't anwser my own question because I'm a theist but if I wasn't I would choose my current religion: Islam.

Could you give a reason as to why? If all were proven then you might as well follow a really loosely-ruled but awesome-heavened religion. I'd probably go for a religion of my own devising or Buddhism.

If all were proven I'd be Germanic Pagan. All I have to do is die a hero in battle and then I get to spend all the afterlife until the apocolypse fighting to the death all day and then getting magically better to drink beer and feast all night until the morning where I get to kick even more ***.

I was baptized Orthodox, hence I suppose I would chose Orthodoxy.
Or I could just invent a narcissistic religion where I am god ... so when its proven I indeed become god.

I would pick Christianity as I am Christian. Or a religion where the world would bow down before me... MWAHAHAHA!! =P

Kind of a stupid question. All religions for the most part contradict each other.

The question contradicts itself. Most religions say that they are the one and only true religion and that if you follow another religion you go to their version of hell.

But if you just misworded it and you actually meant "If you could choose a religion and it would be true, which one would you choose?", then I'll happily answer.

I'd love to follow that one norse god religion, where after I die I would go to Valhalla and fight a rightous battle, and never technically die. That sounds like some epic fun. It's essentially a multiplayer game + immense amounts of pain.

I would of course like to go to Valhalla. The flaw is that I'd have to die in battle to go there. I have no moral qualms about fighting an equal and dying but getting headshotted from a coupla hundred meters away just isn't my cup of tea.

That's what I meant but like you said I misworded it.

Could you give a reason as to why?

Well because I like it's teachings and moral and find that most rules to be reasonable and smart. Of course there is some rules I don't agree on. I just find it a good religion.

Well anything with reincarnation in it seems fun. It's like...
Neeeverending stooooryyyy, aaaaaaa... (no real connection there, just the constant cycle of reincarnation reminded me of the word "neverending", which makes that tune play in my head every single time)

Seriously, though, if it has no hell I can fall into, and doesn't make me fight holy wars or sacrifice virgins and whatnot, I'm fine with it. If one religion would be proven to be true then we'd at least have one less thing to divide ourselves with. Unite all people under a single religion and you get a bit of peace for a while. That's what I would like.

I'm not sure how that's possible considering the widely diverse claims of various religions. There are be widely varying contradictions between them. Many if not all religions have many internal contradictions as well.

But if you just misworded it and you actually meant "If you could choose a religion and it would be true, which one would you choose?", then I'll happily answer.

I think I would go with Wicca or Buddhism.

To be perfectly honest, if ALL religions through the course of human history were true I would have to follow them all. You see, I have an obsession with being right, and as part of that I have to align myself with everything which is demonstrably true and reject everything which is not. However if I had to pick only one religion to be true, I would select the atheistic sects of Buddhism which teach enlightenment, charity, kindness, and reincarnation. These groups do not assert that there is a governing deity but that all creation is in itself a creative force and that all life is equal.

Probably Christianity, but my own sect. Complete with its own doctrine and values. Basically minus the anti-: Contraception, Homosexuality, Patriarchy etc etc.
Like modern-day secular society.
