Yesterday I had a friend over and he left Goldeneye at my place accidentally. I played it for the portion of this morning that I was awake for and into the afternoon.
Having only seen the original game, like, once, I can say this is an extremely good game. I'm not sure if it lives up to the original, but it's bloody good. The single player missions are fun, get challenging and are engaging. It ranges from shooting your way out of a crowded base to silently knocking out guards and shooting out cameras. The voiceovers are good and fit the story, unlike some games. The Russian soldiers sometimes sound like they're just speaking gibberish, but my Russian ain't so hot.
The multiplayer, both split screen and online is good. The different game modes are all fun to try and can provide a longer period of entertainment, and all the modifiers are great. Paintball in the nightclub. Yeeaaaah boi.
Online through Nintendo Wi-Fi connection is quick to set up and get into a game, and doesn't lag like some games I've played. The system for Accolades and experiance points is well thought out, and there's nothing better than sneaking up behind someone, getting a headshot and having "Headshot" "5 Kill Streak Blocked" pop up on your screen. The only thing it's lacking is a lobby and chat.
I only played this game for a few hours, but I have to say, it's a good game and I recommend getting it, especially if you like the movies, the books, the series, the original game or 1st person shooters.
