Firstly, this is my inaugural forum post, so forgive me if I've placed this in the wrong forum, I simply want to offer my feedback on a game and this seemed to me to be the most reasonable place.
The Contender:
Soundtrack: Fun, but a bit repetitive. This only really comes into play if you sit down and do a few rounds in a row, so I'm not sure that it is a concern.
Game Play: The concept itself is great. I enjoy games where I have the compete freedom to place units wherever I want. I did, however, find the game a bit one dimensional. My personal preference for games are the ones that cause me to think and plan, and this game seems to be built in a nearly failsafe style for the player. I simply stack the highest "defensive" block that I have right up front repeatedly, and I win. This strategy works on all three difficulty levels. I also find that there is no major penalty for being hit. Throughout the course of the game, I went (at my lowest) down about 3 bars of my own health. Perhaps the health could be cumulative, this would add some difficulty and also tie together the levels a bit better.
Rating: My overall rating for this game would be 6.5/10, the only reason that it is not much higher is because there is not any real challenge. I found little difference between the Easy and Hard difficulties and I think that leaves something to be desired for gamers like myself.
Again, a wonderful concept, and a fun game, but it could be better.
I hope that you find this helpful in some measure.
