Yea, it's pretty much like acting out a character in a scenario. Kind of like zombie survival, i guess. Most enjoyable for writers.

Anyone actually interested in RP? If so, discuss.

I do a fair amount of RPing - Bleach characters mostly. I've been Ulquiorra Schiffer, Shinji Hirako, Byakuya Kuchiki and Gin Ichimaru. It's a rather fun pass-time really and allows you to develop your own story-lines that, although outside canonical material, are still pretty awesome.

i want to but i have to keep it in these forums as i don't trust any others, and being 13 in a public school...well school children are unforgiving.

Physical role-play and improvisation acting is more fun and very boisterous (in my opinion).

It's actually quite the same, except the way you express it. In Physical you need to be able to show expressions through, well, expression, whereas with the writing, you need to describe everything. I'm not sure which one I'd prefer, but I only do the writing, since I have to play or talk in front of a mass.

For all those who are actually interested in roleplays, look forward to the new year~

Oh? Why is That?.

How so? It can get your imagination going and get you thinking as if you were someone else.

This guy explains it well:

And it's very true, if people are not into the RP in question, they lose interest very quickly and the whole thing goes to hell. There are a few that survive, but unless you have an active community, they still go at a very slow pace.

I'd like to add that there are a number of things that can easily make an RP terrible, and can easily be caused by one person:

- Inability to speak English
- God modding
- THOSE GOD **** ASTERISKS
- Trying to dryhump everything in sight

Those are just a few, too!

Yet it's also the best teacher if you'd ask me. I learned my english partly through The One, LOTR fanboard/rpg forum.

Don't get me started on Godmodders - they make me want to punch a puppy. It's especially prominent in RPs that involve fighting E.G:

Guy 1: -swings my sword upward and blocks your blow-
Guy 2: -jumps 500 feet in the air and unleashes MOLTEN DEATH UPON YOU-
Guy 1: WTF?!
Guy 3: Pwned!

Anyway, moving swiftly onwards, erm...

Agreed, I was just pointing out how someone ho tipes lik a retord would be bad for the RP.

Nothing wrong with not having the best English skills, but if you type like a moron, you probably shouldn't be RPing with a lot of other people.

Not in the slightest. RPing, in nearly all forms, is the bane of good writing.

only if you have bad roleplayers. a roleplay can actually help remove writer's block.

RP forum as in an entire forum for rping
or a forum rp as in a thread on one site?

It's a forum that bases itself on webcomics and RP, with sections for general chat and such.

Our RP population is kind of dwindling, but it would be nice to have some more people ready to join in and try out their own ideas.

We do have a few **** RPer's, but we let them join in. All in good fun somtimes.

Aye. You can usually pick out the retarded speakings. You can see when people try their best posting a nice post, aswell as you can see when someone doesn't give a **** about the post, as long as it's posted.
