Why people can use only default avatars? Why not let them use what they want? I personally don't really like those armatars :/

Well. Uploading our own pictures will give the admins and mods problems. But the present setting is nice. There is not need of change.

I only think that there will be a problem if the Armatar is inappropriate.
That can easily be solved. If you see someone with an inappropriate Armatar just report it.

But the present setting is nice.

Don't get me wrong. All the Armatars we have now are nice. It's just I think that it could be expanded to letting people upload there own.

There is not need of change.

Sometimes change is good.

Well I mean that change is not necessary now. They will change it when needed.

I only think that there will be a problem if the Armatar is inappropriate.

Or violating copyright, is sexist, racist, in any other way breaks our terms and condition, or if it is in a horrible colour, because that would be a real sin.
This is the reason why most mod are against the idea, because we are going to go through a bunch of people to see if they are breaking our rules, and if we don't people will go and break our rules.

Hence the idea for AG3 about having this only be an option after a certain level of reputation, and only through moderation.

Hm..this is a nice idea. We could get more graphics and tools when we get the required AP.

they are not avatars

They use to be called Avatars.

I know they're called Armatars now.
Most people rather call them Avatars though. Since on most other sites that's how you refer to your picture.

a whole avatar creator that we get parts for leveling up

That sounds interesting and artsy. If they were to put that in I would like to see some peoples creations.

Bah! On this site they are now called armatars, so that's what I'm going to call them. It's unique, and it ties in with the whole "Armor Games" thing. (you know, a cross between armor and avatar) if you changed your name to phillip, when it was john, wouldn't you want people to call you phillip? if you didn't, you wouldn't have changed your name in the first place! and you know that saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." well how about, "When on armorgames.com, call avatars, armatars." see? it all works out nicely.

"Armatar omg creator omg look!": I think you should go check out Gaiaonline.com. As a general game site more specialized on, idk, games, and not hardcore social interaction to the point of facebooknowwithmmorpg, a huge builder does not quite make sense.

Also, again, it seems to be a possibility to upload your own - avatar*, when you get a high enough reputation.

I know I like the way it works now. It is a bit like some sort of diverse school uniform: We are all more or less equally dressed, but the level system as well as the different choices on each armatar step brings a certain diversity to the fight.
It works, especially if the seasonal contests get up and running again.

*On such a personalized level, especially if others are unable to use them as well (can't remember what the requirements were in the AG3 discussion), then it will no longer be an armatar, but and avatar.
