I know this is vague and probably very confusing, but that's the idea. You're not supposed to know the rules because your character doesn't. I will explain more in game, perhaps.

I look around and see a strange environment around me, full of computers, tubes, cameras, and surgical instruments. I realize I am laying down and am about to stand when the environment abruptly changes.
Now I am in a different environment. It's dark. So dark that I cannot see. But then I turn and see that there is light on the other side, so bright that it blinds me. Somehow I know that I am supposed to go somewhere.
Will I go through the light or the dark?
