As I know, you must go to a user profile whom do you want to add to your friend list. There you will see an "add friend" button in the right top corner. Clik on it.
Well you click on the persons profile you want to add and then beside their about you will see and add friend button click on it and they will be in your friends list its quite easy.Problem solved now.
