I recently rewatched Hero (amazing movie) and towards the end it got me to thinking. The King of Qin is seen as a merciless dictator trying to conquer China, with Nameless on the task of assassinating him. It is then realized the only way to achieve peace is through uniting under a common dynasty, which is the goal of the King of Qin.
Would a supposed evil dictator trying to unite the world have a hint of good in it? Would it take burning a few bridges and making a few enemies to accomplish the lofty goal of world peace? With the rapid globalization of virtually everything, and messages being able to be sent in seconds and being able to travel abroad in short periods of time, the world is shrinking before our eyes, and sooner or later we will have to unite. My question to you is what would it take to unite the world? What would be some major obstacles to overcome? What would a one world government take to accomplish and when, if ever, do you foresee this happening?

Why would we have to unite? I think the world could never be united becuase some parts of the world are too hostile and their governments are too weak. If we did unite into one large country, there would be war everywhere because everyone would want to be the leader of the world.
what i mean is that you shouldnt neccesarily believe everything that you see on the news and whatnot actually do some investigating on your own as to waht may have really happened just because someone said oh yea fireworks killed all those birds doesnt mean you should believe it ivestigate it yourself to really see if that is true or not dont just believe what you hear in the media
A generalization, sure. I'm certain some leaders were out there doing it for the Evulz. (Vlad comes to mind). But otherwise, most just like the power, for good or ill.
Seriously? Vlad was trying to defend his throne from rival claimants and from hostile powers. He impaled many of the nobility because they rebelled against his father, killed him, and buried his older brother alive. I don't think he deserves to be called evil.
Throughout his reign, Vlad systematically eradicated the old boyar class of Wallachia. The old boyars had repeatedly undermined the power of the prince during previous reigns and had been responsible for the violent overthrow of several princes. Vlad was determined that his own power be on a modern and thoroughly secure footing. In place of the executed boyars, Vlad promoted new men from among the free peasantry and middle class, who would be loyal only to their prince. Vlad the Impaler's reputation was considerably darker in Western Europe than in Eastern Europe and Romania. The fame of his cruelty spread in the form of a pamphlet, seriously exaggerated, and promoted by Matthias Corvinus. Matthias tarnished Vladâs reputation and credibility for a political reason: as an explanation for why he had not helped Vlad fight the Ottomans in 1462, for which purpose he had received money from most Catholic states in Europe. Matthias employed the charges of Southeastern Transylvania, and produced fake letters of high treason, written on 7 November 1462.

lol... so vlad was the victim of a propoganda campaign. Funny how history never really changed then. And to think this spawned Dracula.
It shows the UK and USA propaganda machine and clearly shows that reporters (I like to call them script readers) read and reported on the information fed to them. Its also clear they did this knowingly... they deny but you can see it in their eyes... its all in the eyes.
Leaders do it for the power and some of them (hitler, stalin) were just plain nuts. Not sure if the power sent them that way.
i didnt watch the whole thing cuz it was really long. but i could see in the first thirty seconds, the AC-130 part i could see where it was going. very disturbing to watch.

You should watch the whole thing. Its more than disturbing because of the way our governments suppressed the reporting of these incidents and because of the way soldiers have to be trained into seeing "the enemy" and yet we are given a picture of soldiers as friendly protectors doing a hard job bringing peace.
We are in "One World Government" and the dictator is "economics". Of course there a still borders but it has become easier for one personne with sufficient founds to travel, stay, life how he wishes. No matter how you view it the reality is: WE LIFE ON EARTH. of course there are borders (quite frankly it makes feel like we"citizens" are cattle) its easier to control people while there are divided, it isn't a big secret.
