My go-to pick is Sonic Adventure (1) for the Dreamcast (now on Xbox Marketplace). It was pretty much the first game I poured my time into, and I loved how much you could do in the game. I didn't like Sonic Adventure 2 as much because while it was awesome, they made it too complicated IMO. So, yeah.

I really like Legend of Zelda just because it made me think. It was fun to play a game that focused more on the skill of the player and less of what level you were. It was also very challenging to collect every side quest or a certain amount of items.
