I haven't played Sims 3, mainly because my computer is awful. I will get a new computer soon enough and yes, that includes purchasing some good PC games.

The Sims definitely belongs on the PC. With the expansions and the huge mod community, it's hard to run out of stuff to create. Although I'm really just an architect, I don't play families very often. Building is really the fun part.
I used to frequent Mod the Sims. There's a lot of content over there. I like games which had a large modding community.
I've only played the sims games on some consoles. I recently played it on my brothers Xbox360 and it's fun to play. A nice little time waster. Great graphics on it too. Very funny seeing the sims running around and some actually getting angry. I've never really liked games based on this kind of scenario but it's okay to play every once in a while.
For sims on a PC. I've never played the sims on a PC. I don't want to play any PC games on my laptop at the moment. Most games that I try to download lag a lot. I rather wait until I get a desktop to play. That'll be in a few months. And then I can write a full review of it.
