I would like an M4 Carbine; it is lightweight for carrying around, not too big, packs a punch on the receiving end and the ammunition shouldn't be in scarcity when i need it.
The weapon i'd choose is a short muzzle double barreled combat shotgun. Zombies move slow, so the only time you really need to shoot is up close. It has a wide spread of bullets so its good for forcing the zombie/s back or to slow down/incapacitate a large group. A lot of a zombies body is pointless to shoot at with the exception off the head and legs, but the shot gun has enough fire-power to cut the legs out from underneath them or to blow off their head. The shotgun has always been the zombie slayers favorite.
Isn't it obvious? A trusty crowbar. They're long reach allows you to be a safe distance, you can use them to jimmy open windows and doors while searching for supplies. Also they come in a variety of weights so you are able to find one that you can easily carry. Also they don't require ammo.
A halberd. Definitely. Shotguns need ammo, katanas are cool and deadly but have limited range. Halberds also have limited range but it's quite larger in comparison to a sword. It doesn't need ammo. If aesthetics would play a role, I could also imagine a naginata (or anything spear-related). Though the axe-blade of the halberd adds weight for a good axe-like momentum.
I would use M4A1 for long range zombies and AA-12 for Zombies that are crowded and close. My handgun weapon of choice would be .44 Magnum and a knife to go with it, for zombies that attack unexpectedly. =))
An M16 assault rifle with the grenade launcher attached to it. They're very fast and precise and if there are too many zombies I can just tube and then boom.
i lol at everyone saying some military rifle, where per say will you find a stable ammo source for those? i'm pretty sure stores don't carry around NATO rounds for the M16
anyways i'd go with the AR-15 and a crowbar, but then again i'd carry as much as i could so i'd also have some sort of magnum revolver, and a knife, and another revolver (in case the other runs out in a tight situation

I'd choose a weapon that didn't require me to be close to the zombies and the less physical effort required the better... A flamethrower would probably result in flaming zombies so I'm gonna say that I'd use some sort of gun-toting robot or a weapon that breaks bones.

Gun store or military base. And I would carry the ammo in a duffel bags.
If lightsabes were real I would choose that. But since they're not let me choose a different melee weapon.
The guns I would carry would probably be M16 assault rifle, handgun would be a Browning 9x19mm Hi-Power. Then the melee weapon would be a sword and knife.

Yeah probably if the zombie apocalypse happened. I think they would have a way of testing you though. Instead of just coming out of nowhere and killing everyone.

yeh but if the test proved an ounce unreliable they'd go back to killing because you can always repopulate with whomever escaped uninfected before the policy started

is why i said civilian rifles the AR-15 and revolvers i'd just have to go to the local gunstore/police department and bam i got it
also i'd carry a whole duffle bag of rifles and pistols to give out to random people (with some ammo) i'd be like zombie clause!
