Well, I have made an unofficial wiki for ag and because of recent successes I have decided to aske the wider audience for their opinion, feedback, contribution or suggestion. This wiki was made six months ago and has gained more popularity inthe last month.
Any feedback, contribution or the like is welcome on the wiki and this thread.
Thanks to the people that provided feedback in my comments.
I think you would be best off to get permission from an admin for this, Manny. Copyright and all, y'know? It's already been mentioned, but it is a biased site. You should base everything on the wiki on fact, not opinion, and try not to write about yourself, because you're not exactly an impartial source on that subject. Example:
This wiki was made by one of the users of ArmorGames.com, manny6574(me the author of this section), who is a game developer, programmer, web developer and [b]a creative person.
The bolded section is an opinion.
It's also unprofessional: humor may be applicable in some environments, but you should stick to the facts in this wiki. For example...
Nobody there will call you a noob! Everybody will help you!
And one last thing, and what I think would be the most prominent of these issues: you should really use better grammar if you want people to take you seriously.
This wiki was made by one of the users of ArmorGames.com, manny6574(me the author of this section), who is a game developer, programmer, web developer and a creative person. The bolded section is an opinion.
If you're going to post a screenshot, don't have your information in it.
And is there really a need for a seperate page for each function in the control panel or on the profile? In fact, "User Profile" is the only semi-decent page I can find as it has alot of information (despite being poorly written) and the link in the navigation bar is broken. Scratch that, all the "Popular Pages" links are broken. Probably not your fault, but hey.
You also might want to reference (and quote) the Help section on AG for stuff like AP.
Work on your grammar and make sure you proof read, this is probably the smallest problem but the poor writing quality makes it stand out.
This website is ultimately unnecessary. Games come and go and it's pointless to write and article on all of them. And the most popular ones, AG itself lists the proper information in a concise manner right on the game page.
> I just checked and they didn't. That was not funny.
They did, I'm being dead serious. Someone c/p'd the "armorgames community" section of your wiki to AG's Wikipedia article. It wasn't there because I undid the changes.Look here. It didn't belong on Wikipedia because of the already mentioned reasons.
Despite your project not being official, it's necessary to put out the highest standard of information you can possibly convey. Here's Wikipedia's style guide. Also, here are some of Wikipedia's guidelines and policies which ought to be helpful for people who are intending on making a wiki. I'm not saying you have to be obsessive, but since you're making a wiki of a popular website you need to keep quality up.
