There are moments in games, when you are in a fight or something really good is happening and then an epic theme from the soundtrack starts playing and makes the whole scene even better.

Talk about a subject I could write about ad nauseum. Most of my choices come from the golden age of gaming. That time when most of us in the 80's were growing up and the SNES was blowing everyone's minds. One of the best moments for me in video gaming was the introduction of Frog in Chrono Trigger. Frog was undoubtedly one of the most iconic characters to come out of that series and as well so was his theme. When he burst into the game as the knight in shining armor and his theme followed I was treated to the sweet sound of marching drums and an equally exciting barrage of melody and rhythm that really made you feel something about the character. Even to this day I still get amped up when I hear Frog's theme, so much so that I've done a few renditions on both acoustic and electric guitar.
If I had to pick a theme from something more current it would have to be the majority of the music that came out of Shadow of the Colossus. The "Counterattack" and "The Opened Way" track especially, since they as well spurned a magnificient OCRemix entitled Wander on the Offensive, a collaboration by some of the top remixers in the OC world and a track that not only amps you up but feels as though it should have been part of the game.
