I think the problem is that Monks must be Lawful and this is a heavily Chaotic party.

Not really the monk, although they have lost there appeal to me, mainly the alignment and race combo are the problem.
I think the problem is that Monks must be Lawful and this is a heavily Chaotic party.
That is part of it.

they HAVE to be lawful? isn't there a variant that allows something different like a paladin of tyranny/chaos

I don't think so. Also Loco, have you considered playing a half elemental.

Well trust me on the spell thief, have played three, every one of them was terrible. The Monk is forced to be lawful, and Tieflings are usually CE, I can see them not being evil but not sure about them being lawful.

Dibs, Tieflings can come from either Devil or Demon bloodlines. They are generally just nonGood.

Like I said, scout is like a rogue but better in certain ways. If you want magic Rogue go with Beguiler.

They come from infernal blood, and they are nearly always CN.
