Horsey can have horsey snowshoes instead of regular horseshoes.

What? I know the horseshoes are nailed to their hooves, but it's not like nails can't be taken out. Then they get replaced with horseshoes that are broad and flat, so that they distribute the weight evenly and prevent the horse from sinking so much. Same principle as with snow, but works with sand too.

Well, she would take a step, flick her paw, take a step, flick her paw, take a step, flick her paw, and so on until she finally got it off. But I had it on with a rubber band, the horse would have a bit more trouble getting it off seeing as how it'll be nailed to its hooves.

Now consider that horses don't flick, they kick and buck. Now put blunt metal disks on their feet.
