Eh, illusions are fun. So long as he has fireball and the ilk in there somewhere, I'm easy. You don't HAVE to min/max to be effective at your class role, it just helps.

You're right, particularly since my other option is chunky armor (read as: OH MY GOD I'M WEARING AN OVEN ON MY FACE). I have the cash for it, so just add it onto my character sheet and subtract it from my total gold. If the PCs find me in the desert, I'll be wearing it instead of my burning-death-wear.
