Polytheism (the worship of many gods) is better than monotheism (the worship of one god). I am an atheist myself, but, if you believe there is a god (or gods), polytheism is better. No longer would there be discussions over which religion (catholic, protestant, christian) is the true religion. Each church would have a separate god to worship, therefore extinguishing all arguments over god. Consider Egypt and Greece,each polytheist Empires. They had their flaws but all in all they were Great Empires. Just an opinion from an atheist.
Uhh. No. Then there would be arguments over how their GodSSS are worse/nonexistent, instead of just a singular god. It would change nothing...People are going to argue, even if it is stupid to do so when nothing good can come of it.
Not if each church believed in all the gods, but had one designated one that they worshipped.
That would be counter intuitive to their various creation myths. We also would still have people arguing over who has the better god. I really don't see it changing much at all and I think we have been moving in the right direction. We started with many gods then we moved primarily to one god, so let's move primarily to no gods.

I don't feel that the largest issues between each religion is not the deity that is worshiped. 3 of the largest religions believe in the same deity, it's the interpretations of holy scripture, prophecies, moral codes, etc that are the issues.
True. But, the bible would have to be interpreted on the same level as other scriptures. You shouldn't base a religion on the bible because the bible has so many interpretations. You would also have to interpret the things the bible leaves out. Like Jesus's teenage years. Nobody wants to see their deity as a teenager only because things done as a teenager sometimes dirty that persons reputation. So, i repeal my notion of polytheism.
