Basically, my predicament is that I have begun to play Runescape once again, having read the recent flurry of RS posts on this forum. Having read them, however, I have realised many of them only broadly explain how to start. My account is level 50, and has high skill levels in all areas. The problem is, what spots are there for me to now begin arduously training them to become profitable?
well, thing about runescape is that everytime u levelup i nsomething, u need to spend the money u made to gaet that better stuff. all u need to do is 3 simple steps.
Wood cutting is always profitable, mining + smithing is also profitable. Also, I can't give you much INFO ATM as I do not know if you are F2p or p2p.
Woodcutting = Cut Yews for money = Cut Ivy for xp (no logs)
Mining = Coal/Iron I think you can only smith the ores you MINE yourself, not bought, to make profit
Obviously, the easiest method for f2p is yews, they are not hard to get to and are close to banks. (Varrock Castle, Edgeville for example) There are also yew tree's south of falador if those spots are too crowded.
Members brings in the real cash, doing stuff like hunting red Chinchompas gets you cash, although you have to compete with all the bots camping there.

You can make a small profit buying coal/mith ore and turning it into a bar, then selling that, but not much.

The fastest way I know to get money aside from merchanting is mining iron in the Fally mine, you can make around 300k an hour, but generally someone else is going to show up and fight for it.
