I want to talk a little about my country and then it'd be your turn..

I live in Bahrain specifically in East Riffa...Bahrain is in Asia > Middle East > Arabian Gulf...it's the smallest country in the Middle East...so I think that most of you don't know it! Bahrain means two seas and it was named like that because it only has two sources for water: fresh water springs and saline water from the seas around it. Bahrain was colonized by the Portuguese and British so it has a lot of forts which were built by the Portuguese!in spite of their old-establishment they are really cool!!It was used to be called as the country of the one thousand palms but it lost this name bcz of the urban sprawl. The ppl here are so kind, hospitable and generous. We talk Arabic of course.umm what else?? well,I guess I'm done!

Now it's your turn..tell me about your country..

I'm from Sweden. It's in northern Europe, and even though it is one of the larger countries in Europe by size, it has a pretty small population. It's got a population density of 20.6/km2 according to Wikipedia, and Germany, for example, has a population density of 229/km2 according to the same source.

Here's a picture...

Did you see it? No? That's because it's covered in snow.

Okay, I lied, there was no picture above. Sorry.

Okay, I'll bite.

I live in the US at the moment, in a state called Texas. Texas used to be its own republic, and most of the population wish it were still that way. Seceding the nation is always on the ballot.

About Texas.

1. Second largest state in the US, by both population and area.
2. We have some of the largest cities in the US.
3. Austin (my birthplace) is the Capitol of Live Music!
4. Our landscape ranges from desert, mountains, plains, beach, tropical, pine forests, and urban. We have it all!
5. We are a minority-major state
6. A lot of Texans speak 2 languages
7. Our judicial system is extremely complex (let's just say we are prepared to be a republic and self-sustaining again)
8. Our education system is great in some ways, horrible in others.

I am half Spanish, though. A lot of my family lives in Spain. I don't know as much history about it as I do Texas. I do know it's a beautiful country, very liberal, horrible food, and awesome people.

I'm from Italy, the best/worst country in the world. We have a perfect climate, some of the most beautiful cities in the world, warm seaside next to snowy mountains, awesome food and so on. But there are a lot of people who don't care about these things, and want to separate the north from the south and other stupid things. Plus, our politicians seem to aren't able to organize a separate waste collection in some cities.

I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, second only in amount of rain to Newfoundland, Canada. (I'm not sure if these figures are true but it sure seems like they are.) Canada in general is either flat, rocky, icy or mountainous. We have beavers. Quebec seems to want to separate from Canada, or at least some people do. This would be annoying because then we wouldn't be the second-largest country in the world, along with the fact that the Atlantic provinces would be cut of from the rest of Canada.

I am from Brazil, one of the most beautiful South American countries. Here we have beautiful beaches, hot weather all the year, good music and drinks and many other things you can imagine. We have historical centers, big cities, the biggest forest in the world, beautiful girls and an amazing culture. Maybe some social problems can be solved but the rest is fine.

I live in Dartford, England but I'm from the United States of America. But I won't talk about America. England has some pretty cool landmarks(which you probably already heard of). Stonehenge is one of England's peculiar landmarks. It also is one of my favorites. We have many lakes here. The Pennines are our oldest mountain range. South of the Pennines are the English lowlands which have many hills. The temperature in Winter doesn't get much lower than 0 degrees(Celsius and not much higher than 32 degrees(Celsius).

I live in America. I am blessed to live in such a free nation, but it makes me a little sad when I think that one day, all of our dumb and corrupt politicians will hand our country over because we can't afford to pay for all the junk we buy.

Ana min Lebnan! That's how you pronounce "I'm from Lebanon" in Arabic and how you wright it in "English-Arabic"! Well it's a beautiful country the climate is great it's the middle of winter and my dad goes to smoke a few cigars outside on the balcony wearing shorts and a T-shirt! We have lots of beaches, moutains, deserts and lots of pollitions! If your lucky you can see the sea while your on a mountain if all the buildings aren't blocking the view! The only problem is the all thempolotical problems. Heck I'm not in school right know because of one of them. I wish I could understand the problem, but I can't understand classical Arabic only slang and even that is a little hard.

I would post pictures but I'm on my Ipad.

I live in the U.S
The state is called Ohio. On the weekends though I'll go over my grandparents home in Michigan.

Some things about Ohio:
-If you don't like the weather then you can decide to wait about ten minutes for it to change. That's mostly true seeing that are climate changes all the time. A couple days ago it was nice and sunny out, next it turned into a thunder storm for about an hour, then it started snowing all night long.
Messed up climate if you ask me.

-The winters are freezing cold and the summers are blazing hot out.
Last summer had to of been the hottest. It stayed from 80-100 degrees almost the whole summer. Winter is too cold. Before I used to enjoy winter but this year it's been from 5-25 degrees.

The only time that it's at peace is when it's in the fall it's a bit more stable in the fall. The weather will usually be from 40-70 degrees and that's how I like it.

-We have the best college football team on the planet! Ohio State Buckeyes.

-The state is really big on corn as well. We seem to grow a lot of it!

-The education system is okay.. I'm disliking it more though since they've decided to take some major sports out of the schools.

Most of my family though live in Florida and Canada. I have more family in Florida and Canada then in any other state. My family originally came from Cuba to avoid the horrible dictatorship of Castro. Some come from Spain. That's on my Mother's side of the family.

On my Father's side his family came here from Italy and Poland.

Uuuuh you have Italian roots! Wow.
I had to go, but I would like to say some other sad things about my country, Italy. We have a prime minister that owns a half of the televisions and control indirectly the other half, so our freedom of speech is the least in the European union. He also thinks he is persecuted by the judges and other insane things. Usually Italian people are intelligent and kind, but I feel sad when I think the people of my country still vote for this man.

I live in the netherlands, one of the smallest countries in the world. it lies in europe, and is known for wooden shoes, tulips and cheese. although, that's not bad, there are worse things in the world =)

first thing about holland: the bycicles are everywhere. the cars actually take care for bycicles, because they are so common. although everyone rides a bike, there are verry few reknowed dutch bike racers. why? because we have no mountains. the highest hill is 300 meters high. most of the country is below sealevel, but holland is also famous for its dikes, and that's absolutely right. 'nederland leeft met water' (the netherlands lives with water.) is a known phrase.

the dutch are verry similar to the germans, althoug maybe a little bit less modest. we love to go on long holidays (3 weeks) to france and germany, but turky is upcoming, and if we travel with our tents and carvans, we take as many duch products with us as we can. (clichè, but most of the time, true.)

I love our social systems. maybe some of the others on this forum don't think the same as I do, but I like to be sure that if something happens, (illness, losing my job, etc.) I can trust on the government. we have multiple party's, if you are going to vote, you sometimes have to chose from multiple party's with similar ideas. that's confusing sometimes.

weed. yep, I know. well, I can say about it that the busses that go over the border are often full of germans that were in holland to get stoned. at least our policy of warning for the danger of drugs, rather than silence about it, makes it your own choise and risk. you know exactly what you are doing.

that was holland, it's more than this, but maybe someone else knows more about it...

Have they not passed the law that you have to be a citizen of Holland to partake in such activities? I knew it was underway, at least.

I do love Holland, though. The Windmills are surreal to me!

Hearing about all the scandals he finds himself in, I dunno what the heck is going on up there.

Let's run down a few facts about NZ, since I don't feel like giving out a travel advert or an essay.

- The longest officially recognized place names in the English-speaking world is of a hill: Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu

- Sheep shagging jokes aside, New Zealand's sheep population fell from 70 to 39 million from the 80s up to 2008. However, there's still a rough 1:10 ratio of humans to sheep.

- NZ's largest cashcow is tourism... and there's agriculture, especially dairy. Fonterra is the world's leading dairy exporter (well, according to itself)

- The outdoors provides NZ tourism with all the money. Yeah, other people say New Zealand looks stunning. Hiking, backpacking, rafting, mountaineering, bungee jumping, etc. I mostly stay in the cities though.

- A lot of films produced here, most notably the LoTR Trilogy. The LoTR prequel is set to start filming sometime soon.

- Rugby union is the most popular sport in NZ. If you've heard about the All Blacks, you know what I mean.

- The moa were a family of flightless birds endemic to the country. The largest species were among the tallest birds that ever lived, reaching 3.7 m and 230 kg. They were hunted to extinction by the Maori.

- People here take the environment seriously. We love having a clean and green image. Wildlife conservation and the anti-nuclear movement are particularly strong here. NZ's nuclear-free zone status was put into legislation in the 1980s.

I'm from the United States of America. Most people know us for being fat... oh and for our stupidity for electing George W. Bush for President TWO TIMES! I live in Illinois near Chicago, the third largest citie in the country (or I think, lol). Winters are sorta cold and summers can get a bit hot. Football is a major sport (not soccer for some of you AMERICAN FOOTBALL (Look it up (Haha a parenthises inside a parenthises)). Most people think that we're nieve and filthy war monguers. I mostly like the country for it's big variety of cultures and people. And that's pretty much it and if you don't know about America, then look it up please!

Sincerely,
The Dustmister

PS: Sorry for George W. Bush and people like Lindsey Lohan! If you ever go to L.A. look out for her, she is CRAZY and might run over you with her car!
