I never really understood a few things about my former faith (christianity). What is the holy spirit? (used to be called the holy ghost. Why the name change?) No one refers to what it "is". It makes no sense to me. My other question is why the hell did Joseph never take the time to have sex with his wife? And how could anyone believe that their wife was pregnant from a god?
As far as I know, nothing in the scriptures tell us that Jesus had no siblings or that Mary was a virgin. I believe that the idea of the virgin mary is a misconception based around the symbolism and sanctity of being a virgin, rather than a biblical account.
I believe so, as well. However, I don't understand why we don't use some of the non-canonical scriptures when talking about Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. There is some REAL good stuff in the others.
Jesus had a bad attitude.
And this reminds me of a t-shirt my friend has, not meant to be offensive, just funny.
There is nothing different between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost, and the name just changed with the times, though some people still call it the ghost.
The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity, and it is the part within all Christians that Jesus left with us when He went up to heaven.
This is a simplified version of what I, as a born-again, Christian, believe.
The middle child of the trinity, everyone forgets he's there.
The Holy spirit is part of what connects us to Jesus and God
Or what parents told their kids to make them behave, like Santa Clause save for grownups!
Not really, the holy spirit isn't the "law enforcer" of the trinity, that tends to fall back to God. Actually tiger basically got it right, the holy spirit serves as the bridge between humans and God after Jesus had risen and went back to heaven.
