Hi, ive been wondering, since they announced the new AG3 i wanted to know what would happen to the Karma in the new Ag
------------------------------------------------------------
Ex, say Firetail_maddness has alot of haters ok? now according to the Karma system, when someone flags someones post, they lose karma. and if someone has a group of haters that flag everything that he does (comment forum etc,) then he will go into the negative karma, and if that happens, he cant post forums or other things.

I'm thinking there should be a box that pops up when you rate someone's posts down then you insert your reason then submit. I would think that the Administrators could be able to see such things of people rating someone down intentionally just because they 'hate' the person.
I can't really say what the 'karma system' will be.
I'm going to say this should be able to answer the question.
Maybe.

Really? This gonna be terible for me......

I'm sure the moderators and admins will be well aware of such things happening. They see peoples psoting habits, and know who's a problem and who isn't. They will also be able to review the flagged posts (Like they can now)

ON that note I don't think it will be about being flagged, but rather what yo uwhere flagged for when a moderator looks at it.

no, not really... i mean, it kind of does, and answers some different questions people might have had, but, i think someone needs to explain and answer a little more fully. but that's just me.

Well, I am pretty sure there will repercussions for spaming the flag system, if what Matrix is talking about isn't implemented.

Basically: If you flag someone's post, a mod or admin will review the flagged post, and only if the mod agrees and decides to remove the post, the karma will be affected.
Likewise, if a certain person keeps flagging the same person's posts over and over for no reason, they will most likely be banned for harassment.

If the mods have to review it, then only an evil mod, like Gantic(who stalks the Count to 100 thread, grrr) could screw that up. I think it will be ok. =)

There should be an edit and delete button, the post report button with reasons, and the option to undo a flag.

I would like a edit button for forum posts. Seeing that sometimes I can mess up my posts and then I'll have to double post and wait for a Moderator to delete the previous one. And if they do have the edit button then it would say something like how you edited the forum post.

I removed several comments about custom armatars. Keep things on topic or start a new thread.

GoM, we've talked about an edit button before, and we'll probably allow it within a time window (ie: 5 minutes) after you post a message. We wouldn't want you getting lots of negative karma for something, then letting you change your post completely a month later or something.

We haven't even started designing the "reputation" system yet (I hate the word Karma), so it may not be available to users when we launch. Since we're changing so much about the Armor Points system, the reputation system will be a top priority after launch, I think.

Do you think it would be useful to make the site so that you can only rate each post once?

Rating something once is kind of a given...
