Because theres a reason why its called Classical Music.

After getting in discussions with various other members pondering the same question, I've finally decided to ask the rest of AG the same question:

What is your favorite peice of Classical Music?

Here are some of mine:

1) Pictures at An Exibition
2) March of The Toreadors
3) Flight of The Bumblebee

Or may be you like Canon in D? The 1812 Overture? The Surprise Symphony? Beethoven's 5th Symphony?

Well... WHAT IS IT?

Man, how can I choose?

Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor is one of the most beautiful pieces I've heard. Every time I listen to it, I hear something new in it.

Capriccio Espagnol by Rimsky-Korsakov is another excellent one, as well as the Butterfly Lovers' Violin Concerto. Elgar is my favorite classical composer, from the Pomp and Circumstance marches to Salut d'Amour. In piano music, Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata is my favorite, with Rhapsody in Blue as a close second.

There was a symphony and each part of it was a different animal. The sounds each described different animals. For example, an elephant would be deep and slow, and birds would be high and fast. Does anybody know who wrote it, or what its called?

Carnival of the Animals, by Saint-Saens.

@knight_34, Parsat

Yea, thats it. I was thinking something like 'Zoo of Symphonies', or something else along the lines of that. Thanks.

I don't think just an orchestrated song automatically qualifies it as classical music.
