I could get into a whole scenario involving a cruise ship and a spontaneous Chuck Norris attack, but I'll try to make this short and sweet. So anyway, you are alone, stranded on a tropical island. You find a small blade and a flare gun with two flares washed up on the shore. After a day of observing, you make a few notes in your head about what's on the island.
Geography:[ A circle-shaped mass about 2 miles across. There is one small lake near the center. A few caves are scattered about.
[b]Life: The island has tall trees and grass near the center of the island and some scrub brush near the beach. As far as animals go, some small birds flock near the canopy of the trees and half sized wild pigs wander by the trees.
Climate: Tropical
How do you survive and what will you do to be rescued?
I can only answer that if I know what kind of rescue I'll be getting. What clues do I ave as to how I got there, and who can help me? If I don't know this, I don't know what to use for survival, and what to use for signaling people, as supplies are limited, after all.
^It's pretty much up for you to decide. If it was real life, you probably wouldn't know most of this so you just have to kind of use your imagination I guess.
First I lay out gravel and sticks so it spells HELP. Then find a cave and build shelter. Then I try to find something I can make fire out of. Finally I look for food. If I hear aircraft then I'll make a fire by the HELP formation then try to create smoke and yell help. But in the meantime I try to limit how much I'll eat and drink.
build a house by the lake, away from trees, and I shoot flairs at the birds, burning down the forest, giving me perfectly cooked food , then I have a paridise island all to myself, why would I want to leave?
I'd probably make a fishing pole for the lake in the center. I'd use the caves for a temporary shelter. I'd also use sticks to spell out HELP, but I'd do it during high tide so they don't accidentally get washed off. To keep myself from going insane, I'd talk to the pigs and try to make a game out of something from the island. Oh and finally, since I never don't have my cell phone, I'd call somebody for help.
Use the trees to make a small shelter on the islands coast, keep a fire near my shelter constantly, eat only cooked food, collect rain water from leaves if the lake is unhealthy, check caves for predators, create hunting tools out of sharp stones and braches, lay animal traps around my camp, if there are insecs, smear mud over my body as natural protection, keep air tight covers made from animals over preserved food to prevent sickness, hunt fish regularly using either spear fishing methods or nets, clean all food before eating, build a look out post when you have the time for it, build raft/boat wwhen there is time, wait for rescue. If there isn't forseeable rescue, build a large, safe boat. The movies that show people building rafts for survival is ridiculous if you have the timbers. On your boat, have an area to sleep next to whatever you are using to steer, also have a storehuse of food because relying on fish is not a good idea. ALWAYs have oars and a retractable sail with mast. Remember what direction the sun rises from and sets at.
Survival Method 1: Man vs. Wild When your out in the wild you need to eat to survive. For every one thousand steps you take you need 500,000 kilojoules of energy. They only way to restore that lost energy is to find something to eat.
Now I've just happened upon some beetle larvae found in this rotting tree. These are perfectly fit for eating and will give you the energy you need to survive. I'm going to take a few of these and eat them.
(Bear Grylls eats larvae). Uhh, that is the most disgusting thing I have ever eaten. It tastes like old gym sock and rotten eggs mixed with moldy goat cheese!
(Bear Grylls talking in voice over) When your out in the wild you need to eat to survive. Beetle larvae is filled with many nutrients protein, and vitamin C, which is necessary if you want to survive.
(Bear Grylls talking still in voice over) A few years back a friend of mine was camping in the woods. He went hiking and lost his way from the path. He found a tree trunk filled with beetle larvae. He gather a bunch of them and put some of them in a container that he poked some air holes in. He rationed the beetle larvae and ate them for the next couple days. If it weren't for the larvae he may not have survived. Survival Method 2: Gilligan's Island You are a professor and you use the materials around you to build an elaborate shelter with working elevators. You also make many other inventions and just decide to live on the island. (You probably should have built a ship instead.)
Survival Method 3: The Circle Shaped Mass It's Halo!!???
You were on a convict plane, one of the toughest, when you crash. You're starving, and there are more survivers with you. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH *eats them*
I go into one of the caves and ALL OF THE SUDDEN I'M LINK! I have 100 bombs and 5 hearts and that theme song is playing from some amazing system that dosen't make echos. I go through the cave and find a dragon which I use the bombs to set a trap and BAMM! he's dead and inside of what used to be his throat is a key. I take the key and travel to a giant door with 10 locks on it.
Long story short, I go into each cave kill each dragon and behind the locked door is a helecopter and it is in a room with a hatch in the ceiling that the helecopter can fit through. I get inside the helecopter only to find out that IT'S A FIGHTER HELECOPTER! At once I become suspicious and try to fly away as fast as possible but I run right into a cloud that is flashing green and grey and I go into that Blackhawk game and have to infultrate their base and blow it up. After I do that I find more fuel magicly given to me with a flashing COMPLETE sign that still shows even when I close my eyes. I use that extra fuel and make it home to have everyone angry at me that I killed the last remaining dragons on earth and I blew up the U.S. defense system when we're at war with someone else.
