Okay, so my iPod (when it's fully charged even) lasts only a few minutes on it's own battery. I've had it for years, but rarely ever use it. I've got a 5th Gen (one of these)

and I don't know if it's the battery or what.

I'm pretty sure batteries are supposed to last for more than a few minutes. Maybe you should get the battery replaced.

What are we supposed to say? That's weird, maybe it doesn't last long because it's on max brightness and audio and you're watching videos or something. Are you being conservative of it's power?

Yeah, I really don't do a whole lot on it...it lasts no more than 10 minutes on average. And the battery is internal, so I'm not entirely sure how I would replace it myself.

When in doubt, contact apple. Also, lowering your brightness setting may help!

try to lower briteness, listen to it when its hooked up on the charger, there are wall adapters that charge via usb. Its just a idea.

Excessive heat wears down your battery the most.

Go to an Apple store and have it replaced.... with a granny smith..
