I get on Facebook to just chat with some friends. I know that I can just text or call the person if I want to talk with them. But. . I have minutes and when I use all of those up, I can't call. Also I don't like texting. I prefer typing since it's faster. And all my friends on there live a nice half hour walk from me. Sometimes I'm too lazy to walk that far. I don't use it for any of their games/apps. Whatever you call them. Only to chat with friends.
I have about 200 friends on there. At least I know all of them though. I met all of them from school and have held many decent conversations with them.
While some of these people running around have about 2k+ people added. . I don't understand the point in doing that. Adding people you don't know? What's the point?
I admit though, the constant friend request by random people does get annoying. I honestly hate it. I don't understand why random people would want to add someone they don't know.
On Facebook - I hate all the constant status updates about everything the person does. I mean does anyone really care if you're going to get a glass of water? Does anyone care when you eat something? Etc.. . . My last status update was about a month ago. I don't bother with those things.
meet new people
I'd prefer not having strangers know my exact location.
Maybe that person doesnt have a friend in real life and wants to have a new friend to like them.
Then the person needs to be more social. To 'like' them? I instantly hate people that try to add me. If I don't know them of course.
Thats what facebook is about; making new friends.
Not to me. I use it to just chat with already friends that I know in my actual life. If I want to make new friends - I'll just do that at school.
Cant people hide that type of info in Facebook?
Yes, but they can still find you with your name. And also I have my location on my profile. So that my in real life friends know it. I don't plan on taking it off just so strangers don't see it. That's what a private profile is for. So people can't see it if they aren't your friend.
If your friends already know you then I don't see the problem in taking it off.
I know that. I was talking about if I were to add a stranger then I would have to take it off.
if they already do then thats what you need to do. You can always search your friends and secretly tell them who you are so they can add you and that way no1 will know your name.
I know that. But if you add a complete stranger on there they will have your name then they can search you up and possibly find your location.
But 200 friends is already a pretty big number.
I know. And probably 20-50 of them I don't even talk to anymore. I might do some cleaning of my friend list later on. . . .
