to me the grammys are a joke.

grammys should be giving to artists who do the following:
1.write there own songs
2.sing there own songs
3.write all the music for there own songs
4.have had some commercial success.

a good majority of artist that are nominated for the grammys on TV have not done the following.

thus why im rooting for arcade fire and mumford and sons

This year has made me boycott the grammys. Seriously, they're terrible <_<. It's a popularity/commercial contest instead of an actual music contest.

dude there was a small shining glimpse of light in this years grammys.

arcade fire won album of the year and Esperanza won best new artist.

I don't like the Grammy, the give it to people that sometimes do not deserve it. I agree with delossantosj that to win the Grammy you should have that things but today just a few bands/singers are really decent.

This proves that they are not just popularity. I had never heard of Esperanza, and heard of Arcade Fire just like once.

ya. i mean they need to give grammys to REAL artists, artists who not only influence, but write amazing lyrics, and catcchy music. i mean come one.

While I would've given every award to a different band than their choices, as far as the scope of mainstream music goes they did a great job. Arcade Fire deserved that win way more than any of the artists in the running for album of the year this year. Esperanza was also an interesting choice for best new artist.

i can tell your bias was huge lol you looked her up and you knew you already didnt like here.

dude she wrote and composed ALL of her songs. justin didnt do ANY of that lol he got a song written FOR him and sung it half well. he had ONE hit on top ten, hes didnt even deserve to win it in ANY aspect.
