I got three new PC games for Xmas along with my slog of Xbox games. They were Empire: total war, Minecraft, and Starcraft II. I immediately dove into Total war because of all the videos i watched of it and was instantly drawn in. Sometime later i discovered the majesty of Minecraft, and now I'm playing this game called Starcraft II, which could be the greatest PC game of all time.

So... I'm not a big cutscene guy, and I didn't play video games 12 years ago when the 1st Starcraft came out, and i have no idea why taht guy went to prison or why the main character looks like John Marston... anybody want to clear up the story of Starcraft?

Umm yeah. The guy you play is Jim Raynor, he bank-robbed alot with Tychus, back in the day, but eventually when the main enemy and leader of the Dominion, Mengsk led a rebellion against the now defunct Confederacy, Jim joined them after they saved a planet. He met Sarah Kerrigan, a former-Ghost operative of the Confederacy and they grew close as their fight with the Confederacy escalated. Mengsk was a cruel ****** though and planted Zerg-attractors on the planet Tarsonis (the heart of the confederacy) to lure the Zerg there. The Protoss wanted to obliterate them but thanks to Mengsk ordering Sarah to hold them off, Tarsonis fell.

Sarah was still on the planet as Mengsk knowing left, and she was consumed by the Zerg - or so Jim thought.
Sarah was taken to the planet Char and morphed into ultra-psionic awesomesauce Zerg Queen.

That's enough for today.

I preferred Highfire's summary. I can't read manuals of strategy games. They use words like "micro" and "macro" and i feel like I'm in a physics class.

I actually typed the rest of the story a few hours ago whilst I was logged in. And in the time it took me to actually type it up and the time for my profile to log myself out automatically matched up and my post didn't come in.

Sorry about that.

Jim Raynor and Tychus Findlay were doing bank robberies in the past. They joined Arcturus Mengsk, leader of the Dominion, to fight against the Confederacy. On his mission, Jim met Sarrah Kerrigan, professional former Ghost from the Academy. Mengsk tried to lure the Zerg on Tarsonis and that was success, they forgot Kerrigan on Tarsonis but they had time to return and take her, but they didn't because Mengsk gave command to leave Tarsonis. Jim, angered by the betrayal of Mengsk, he quit the Dominion and led a small army for himself called Raynor's Raiders. He rushed to Tarsonis to save Kerrigan but he was too late. But Jim was wrong, Kerrigan wasn't killed that day, instead she was taken to the volcanic home planet of the Zergs named Char. Then she was put into a chrysalis and turned into a Zerg Queen. The alliens from the planet of Aiur, called the Protoss allied Jim and the Raiders to stop this madness from Kerrigan and The Overmind, who was leader of the Zerg. Then a High Protoss Templar called Tassadar was taught by Zeratul how to infuse powers with the Void and use it against the Overmind. Tassadar used these powers and crashed with his Ship directly into the Overmind's brain and destroyed it, killing himself in the process. After The Overmind's death, Sarah Kerrigan became the new leader and Queen of the Zerg, holding a title Queen of Blades. Mengsk holds a Press Conference to tell every citizen on Korhal that Jim Raynor is a terrorist and there is a price reward for his head. Raynor's marines didn't turned on him for the money. They were on his side and they were ready to start a Revolution agaisnt the Dominion. With many luck, they made it through the Recorder rooms to prove Mengsk betrayal on Broadcast Live. Mengsk steps away from his Leader seat and dissapears, hiding agaisnt everyone because it was his fault that Kerrigan is now Queen of Zergs who killed 8 Billion People. In the Meantime, Tychus and Jim collect Xel'Naga artifacts to use it as a weapon agaisnt Kerrigan. Tychus wants to kill Kerrigan but Raynor knows that there is a way to turn her back into Human. Zeratul secretly gives Raynor a shard. Raynor then sees Zeratul's dream through the shard. Inside the shard, inside Zeratul's vision lies the End of the World and the Protoss' Final Stand for Survival. Inside the Future Vision, Kerrigan is killed by Raynor, and Xel'Naga creators of the Protoss and Zerg finally show themselves and kills BOTH the Zerg and the Protoss, by this timeline the Terrans are already destroyed. That was Zeratul's Future Vision. The only one who can help to stop this Apocalypse is Kerrigan. Now, Raynor, becoming the Ultimate man for Survival of Humanity uses the Xel'Naga artifact agaisnt Kerrigan and turns her into Human form. Raynor, Tychus and few marines go into the cave where Kerrigan lies unconscious. Tychus points the Gun at Kerrigan's head because he secretly made deal with Mengsk for money and full Freedom. But Raynor quickly reacts, saves Kerrigan and kills his best friend Tychus. Raynor leaves the cave with Human Kerrigan on his hands and they both smile. This is the full story of Starcraft 1 and 2 by now.

TO BE CONTINUED
Zeratul's future prediction will become reality in "Maw of the Void" the third expansion of Starcraft 2, but maybe Kerrigan will be there this time to save the Apocalypse.

Oh quick note: The last expansion is called Legacy of the Void, I guess that doesn't quite suit the "impending doom" thing as "Maw of the Void" would have. :<

Apart from a couple inevitable typos, yes, that is 100% bang on. Thanks Larmus
