Wild Gem - Is it worth to put in this even? Atm I got it maxed(16/20) and for me it seems very solid starting mana when used on anvil. That way I don't invest in starting pool skill almost at all.
Triple Gem Mastery - Do you keep it maxed always? Lately I am keeping it maxed now because I find that with triple gems it seems easier to complete missions.
Multiple Gem Mastery and etc. Masteries regarding each gem type - Do you max those too when playing endurance modes or regular modes?
Replenish - This skill is the one I try to invest all the possible points I got. Right now it is above 80 if I got Wild Gem maxed, triple gems and some specific gem skills for certain levels.
Focus - As little as possible, to guarantee that when selling the wild gem I am very close to the cap.
Any suggestions on how could improve my chances on surviving longer waves on endurance too? I often can't get to wave 100 on newly discovered maps where mobs are stronger and I often lose after wave 100 in earlier maps. I use the Lime and Yellow combo with grade 1 Orange gem for triple combo and then I just keep duplicating the created gem.
what you want to do is create a single Red/lime/yellow gem to kill the monsters (start it in a tower, move it to a trap later on), and use multiple lime/orange traps to harvest mana-I recommend grades 2-4. But you also need to work towards a high-grade lime/orange.
Using this basic strategy, I was able to get enough mana to basically do whatever I wanted by wave 60. (200,000 mana pool, filling up fairly frequently).
though, I should warn you I had wizard level 100 when i started my attempt. I recommend normal play, but with angering, to get enough exp to attempt the above. (p.s. I don't have premium).
Okay, so here's what might be a silly question... the only field I haven't unlocked is A13, and I keep playing random fields hoping to see a few apparitions to kill, and no such luck. Is there a way to make one appear? Because I think I only need one or two more to unlock A13. :/ I'm at wizard lvl 98 or some such, so I can toggle the skills a few different ways if there is some trick to getting the apparitions to appear.
In my experience, you still wind up needing a grade 19/20 with 5-8 grade 18/19 gems amplifying it in order to be able to click through endurance. However, if the gem is L/O/Y then you don't need a second gem, but if you use R/L/Y then you also need a high grade L/O to get mana.
lime/yellow/orange may be better than red/lime/yellow, but only if you're already getting far. If you can't even reach wave 100, then red/lime/yellow, with secondary mana farming gems, is better. Besides, lime/orange can easily be changed into lime/orange/yellow once you get to that point. I do not have premium. I can get a grade 13 by wave...57, if I correctly recall my recent pylon play.
@fractalman thanks I decided to just play for the challenge amulets on endurance mode so that if I happen to catch an apparition, I won't get "defeated" But if it's by wave 8 that you know, at least I can duck out of a map if it's boring me.
tips for new-game non-premium users: for the first few levels, use red or lime if available. otherwise, use the fastest firing gem (cyan, purple, even blue). If you have poison, it can go in traps. once you get far enough to have, say, 800 mana at the start, unlock red, and use a SINGLE red gem for the level. Do not bother with swarm mode, but if armored only mode is available, use it-it's much easier. As you get farther, start using amplifiers around your red gem.
For open maps, don't try to build an entire track for the monsters when you first get there. Just build enough walls to force the monsters near your single red gem.
Be carefull when angering: angering early on makes your red gem more powerfull, but you should (perhaps must) keep the monseter count below 10*firerate, and the monster hp+armor below minimum gem damage, at least untill you get to red/lime gems.
the summon multiplier currently has the dependency on total monsters summoned, not a number of monsters on the current wave, and at least has a divisor of "monsters killed minus monsters summoned" which caused some people to have a 0.01 multiplier on the pylon levels due to efficient result being negative. But the exact formula is so far undetermined.
A grade 18 on a shrine with the skill upgraded absorbs 101 % monster hp lol. Leaves them at 1 hp, proceeds to slaughter 250 ish monsters. So once you can make grade 18 gems, you can anger the 3billion hp giants to some trillion, but it's kinda pointless.
personally, i use red if it's their, other wise, i perfer dual-gems with maxed out crafting, building cost, and the gems available(2, if it's a crafting poly thing), as well as wild gem and the skills to boost range and speed maxed far as possible.
