Why does the US administration want Julian Assange either silenced, or dead?

Because he got intelligence that they didn't want shared and shared it with the world...

Not that that question has a lot of pertinence to this thread, but that is why. I could go on a giant rant about how the American public has a right to know everything that the government does, but I won't just because doing so would take a lot of time and effort, and it is kinda spammy on this particular thread.

some parts of the army already joined the oppositionists side and will surely help them.

It's good to know Libya still has some patriots in its government. :^)

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government when it deserves it, and right now the Libyan government does not deserve any support at all.

Well, there was a certain speech delivered by a certain president... check it out sometime, it's electrifying.

We should've gotten McCain to be President. Then Libya would be fine.

How would he fix Libya? He has no jurisdiction over that country.

If we had McCain and vapid Palin, America would be in 1000X worse shape, we would be in a depression, not a recession.

I don't think so. The Congress would still be Democratic and since Congress passes laws, the Congress would pass almost the same thing. Now, you can argue that the President has a large influence on what Congress does, yes, I agree. Maybe Congress wouldn't pass anything since they have no idea what to pass, bu

Well, I have no idea what would happen. Maybe Congress doesn't do anything and the economy keeps going down, or maybe Congress fixes the economy by using "conservative" economic logic.

Gaddafi is a total psychopath. Like other dictators do not know what he was doing. I do not care Gaddafi. But I care the people there..

It's almost ridiculous how the Ghaddafi clan, especially Salif al Islam, are still pretending towards the exterior that everything is peaceful and in order. The journalists invited in Tripolis to witness the peace were presented a mass of people on a plaza cheering and so, but the rest of Tripolis is heavily guarded, litter is accumulating, and military helicopters are flying through the air. Really, who do they think they can convince?

But in Bhengali some are already discussing about the country and it's immediate future, people from politics, religion and military, men and women. Seems like there won't be any anarchy following, if the Ghaddafi were to be defeated; I think that's good news.
