There is no problem in making a group on a multiplayer game and that guy is posting a link of the chat that he uses for who wants to join (I know the guy and I am in the group). To make a "clan", you must follow these rules. and there is no problem.
Press control panel at the top right of the screen under your name then type into your 'biography' section that you have a clan, the rules for joining, how to join, etc. . then press save when you scroll down.
When you're in a game tell others to look at your AG profile to see how they can join.
Just to give a clean answer: You are not allowed to advertise on AG. This does include posting links to your chat in the forums, in the game comments and on other users' profile. It also includes "Hey, we have a cool clan, see how you join us on my profile!".
These comments could actually get the user permanently removed from the site as advertising is against the Terms and Conditions. Further, the Angelof- kind of users are not allowed to use their profile for anything other than playing games, unless they have gotten then thumb up from Cormyn, which give another reason for the user to be banned. Please report such comments to a mod or to Cormyn, preferable with a link to the user's profile and to the page where you saw the advertising happen.
A group of people united by a common interests. It also has to do with the username. Such as 'GhostOf' 'AngelOf' etc. . whatever users share with each-other and made a group for a game or something else.
Also, I don't see why you're bringing month old threads to the front-page. It's a little annoying.
