since krin is not unpdating colony no more, what we have is what we get. So that being said its time to put peoples skills to the test. Every old pro that has ever played the game may join new or old. If you "think" you have what it takes, even if your not pro, you may participate
Here are the Details of the tournament When- March 20th Time- 2:00pm eastern time zone (weekdays anywhere from 6pm est to 12pm midnight) *time may vary* modes- 1v1 on normal (other modes may be included)
Rules -Any build or strat is allowed *no restrictions* -No Glitching (all pros will be able to tell this equals in automatic loss) -No hacking -Limited redo's (some people have lag problems, if nessicary the game can be postponed to fix connection) if connection cannot be fixed its automatic disqualification, the tourny will not be held up no excuses -No cap limit to participation. The tourny could be as big as 20 people 100 people or 500 people, i will organize matches as we go along -No time limit. Games can last however long they need to, and the tournament itself can last all summer. The deadline is sept 10th 2011 -Games will be recorded. This will be done by either Me or YOS, so 1 of us will have to be online for matches to even count, these games will most likely be posted on youtube -No bragging, trash talk, or unsporting conduct. These will equal in a round loss
*The winner will be decided by winning the best of 5 games*
Depending on size of tournament, the last group of people will be playing different game modes
The last 2 people will play the best of 11 games

I am very disappointed in the number of matches played so far. I understand that there is only 1 active recorder, but I havenât seen many contenders in the last 2 weeks. Because of this I want all players still in the tournament to post here to show they are still interested in playing. All players will have till the rest of the week to post, or they will be disqualified from the tournament. I will also be taking names of contenders I see on Colony.
can i join i think it would be a better idea if we did a 2v2 and the winner was a pair and you would play with the same person each time becase the game is not quite the same with 1v1
but i think in genral this is a great idea.... maby we could get krin involved and we could do this properly through the actual colony game. and have like proper armorgames refs and an invite to all coloy players. and we could realy see who is the best...... coment who you think is going to win .... i want to see if you can guess the winner. the way this is going though it is very hard to get you and your opponent on at the same time

inflict, you cannot join now. The sign up was a few weeks ago. Krin is not active currently, so getting him involved is impossible. We did spread word of the tournament as best as we could by talking about it on Colony, making this thread, posting comments on the Colony page. We invited all Colony players that were active at the time of registration. I know it is hard for players to by on at the same time, but I am almost always on whe n I can be which is about 5-10 hours a day. I have no clue what you are talking about withthe proper referees and actual Colony game. We had 3 referees, one got p-banned, one is inactive, and I am acitve.

inflict, a 2v2 tourny was held already... LONG ago.. and 1V1 is the best possible way to determine A(singular) player's skill... true some people excel in 2v2 buttt that issue was settled... and like mba said, be organized, get ur opponents info i.e. time zone, schedule, get a recorder 9/10 thats yos and set something up that fits all 3 people... and the whole "week" thing is smart... all players who r TOO inactive to play, shouldnt be in a tournament.. however, bank did give like a 5 month limit soo...
If the 5 month time limit stands, the tournament will fail. I pointed this out a while ago already.
When was there a 2v2 tournament? I don't remember any successful one being set up. I would have loved a 2v2 tournament, although it could only work if it was done in a day.
Here's the plan, if matches don't get played every week then we will have a activity check. That is what is happening now. Once we finish the first round then I might drop the activity check rule.
who is still in the torny? you need more refs, case getting 3 people in 3 time zones on at the same time would be hard. if i may suggest i we ever do this again, case i think this is an ace idea, 1)count me in. 2) we sould set up a 2v2 aswell. 3) we should have set times for games rather than whenever all 3 are on. 4)more refs, like 1 from each time zone and like 5-10 refs in total depending on how many entys. so we can have a ref in the lobby of colony at all times. did you look at my post on the GCD about the foxer....
inflict, this tournament was perfectly planned, until the main organizer got p-banned. I don't think I will ever organize a 2v2 tournament because that doesn't proove anything. 2v2 has not been polished like 1v1 has. In addition, if I make a 2v2 tournament then I would have to rely on the players to send me the recordings because only 4 players can be in a match at a time, so no referees.
In order to be a referee you need to have a good understanding about the game. You also need to be able to record matches, and upload them to YouTube or give them to sommeone to upload.
