What is your opinion?

My opinion?

Never in the whole history of gaming should this happen. One little tiny bit of creativity versus the most up to date graphic system is easily one by the creativity.

Sure there is a visual enjoyment (which is fine) but if you enjoy games just for graphics you are not a gamer. The only time I like the graphics is when I'm watching someone else play it gives me something to appreciate.

So what is your opinion?

I think there's a bottom bar where graphics should be in order for it to be enjoyable for me, but amazing graphics is definetly a want on my list for a game I get, but I value a game that gives me lots of play time, keeps my mind going, is fun to play, and by the end has you emotionally attached to the point you are sad it's over. Also, I like if the story of the game is good enough for a game's ending or a part of it to have physical consequences, i.e a heavy heart, rage and/or sadness.

Creativity... I suppose it really depends on where the creativity is being applied to, but if it is applied in the right areas (such as: weaponry, enemies, storyline, possibly graphics), I really like it. Others... not so much (some games' graphics are so 'creative' it makes the entire game awkward to play).

I think creativity is important, but it all really depends on what the game is, who the character is, and what the graphics team is looking for as far as emotion, feeling, suspension, etc. Designing the set of a game is a lot like set design on a move IMO. If you're gonna make a war game, you're most likely going to make it as real as possible, but for lets say... a sci- fi adventure, there are a lot of creative nodes that you can put in. It all depends on the picture as an entirety.

Minecraft is a great example of a game where creativity makes up for a lack of good graphics. Personally, I prefer creative games over good graphics, and sometimes bad or mediocre graphics are even more appealing than good graphics. For example, I think the bad graphics of Minecraft fits the game perfectly.

Are you kidding me? I hope you are. I don't even get that game... what's the point of it?

Its a sandbox game, meaning the only point to it is whatever you want it to be.

No. It's less blocky than you would think. With fancy graphics on, and smooth lighting, it's incredible how smooth and flashy it looks.

It's detailed enough to slow my computer down.

I think the most glaringly obvious proof of the lack of significance graphics has in the gaming world is an indie game, Minecraft. The game quite frankly looks like **** compared to Dead Space, Crysis, and Red Dead Redemption, but its easily one of the best games ever released.
I agree and also it's intentionally cubes not like a freaking DS game that is supposed to be revolutionary graphics when it is actually terrible. I kinda liek the cubes as well. it;s very.. interesting
