If you would be granted the power to shape shift into one..
1. real animal 2. mythological creature or any other cryptozoological being
..of your choice, what would you choose, and why? Would you rather stay on land, or fly high away, or would you explore the waters?

I think my choice for 1 would probably be a bird, I'm not sure whether I would choose the kestrel or the raven. My choice for 2 would be a Criosphinx (lion body and ram head). I don't know why, it just looks neat.
I'm sure if I was an animal I'd want to live in blissful ignorance of the world. To state a species though, I'll go with Matrix and be a lion. Aside from that, I'd want to be some sort of eagle.
1. As a real animal i would be a cheetah, I would want to feel like how it is to be the fastest creature on earth. 2. As a mythological creature i would be a Kappa ( a Japanese mythological water spirit), because i would want to swim underwater without having to breath.
I would go with real animals, there is more diversity. If I can include animals that are now extinct that gives me even more to work with. Thought I have to wonder why I would be restricted to real animals if I could change my structure so vastly.
Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that extinct species are also part of the choice for (1). Also, I guess if you want to change your structure as vastly as you like, you can turn into whatever strange lifeform you can imagine, and pass it as cryptozoological (2).
If I would be given the ability to shapeshift into an animal or a mythical creature, I won't. I want to stay as a human, and please don't go saying "Hey stupid then Why did you post if you won't pick" I did pick, I chose to stay the same.
That's perfectly fine with me. In a way you chose the human^^
Nazguls are wraiths, and part of tolkienic mythology, I think that's ok. Though I don't know why you would want to shapeshift from a human to an enslaved, bodyless servant that only 'sees' during night and has to rely on scent during day. Is it the strength, power and shear indestructibility? I guess so^^.
I think it is a hard decision to make but I think I would choose to be a Peregrine Falcon because it would be awesome to fly and it can fly at really high speeds.
If I choose a mythological creature I think I would choose a Griffin because they look awesome and they can fly. They were powerful creatures too.
