Hi i was just wondering if there are any ag users out there that have some sort of pro medical experience. I will tell you why. Every time I go outside during the winter, my hands will turn red or purple and if i press on it, it will get white. Any ideas? This has been going on for about 3 years now.

This thread is not just for me; this is for the entire ag community to post medical related things.

Thank you

(will not accept any bull*hit answers from anybody)

Do you get the red splotches when they are warm as well?

wow that's such an easy thing to answer its just cold exposure

and the going white happens when you apply pressure to a certain part of the body. the pigments change under pressure so it is no longer producing the pigment melanin (well it is just in a much less compact area).

also when you are cold like that and you get in do you get a sharp pain through the centre and fingers of your hands? if you do (pretty much every living person dose) then your hands will be temporarily be suffering from what's known as "chill blaze" which is caused by the blood in your veins starting to "thaw" (even though it's not really frozen) causing a sharp pain throughout your veins.

i hope this helped you and everyone else with your problems

Look at your hands under a blacklight. If the pattern is the same as when they are cold, it is just a result of the veins constricting in the cold. I assume you don't do much physical work with your hands?

It could be Reynauds Disease. As your hands get 'colder' (your body thinks your hands are getting colder), your blood vessels contract, and begin to deminish blood flow to your hands, causing the purple coloration.

Although this only happens to you out in the cold, so it could just be that.

pk2015. If you have lived in the same area for years i doubt its temp or conditions thats causing it. sounds like circulation? do you wear thermals or tight tops? or go skiing with that kind of clothing on? Im just having a guess tho. Ask your Dr.. Internet can be great but too much info sometimes!!! What i mean is, you could look at five different things and be convinced you got them all!!!
