This yeah, they've taken that out and put in 10 periods for a day and each class is only around 30-45 minutes long. Really? How are we students supposed to learn in that time period?

I have 5 or 6 six periods during a normal day at school and each one of them lasts 50 minutes. Well, that is what it should last. When the teachers enter the room, we take at least 10 minutes to calm down and pay attention to what they say. That is why I think a lot of people will fail in my class this year.

It's why most of the time I choose to do the work on my laptop.

I wish I could do like this. Some of the schools at my city have this system but mine doesn't have it yet. It would be a lot easier.

my school is a alternative place for people who got kicked from regular school so its not all bad apart from slamming doors every 5 mins our classes start like 30 mins later and school ends like an hour earlier then regular school and we dont get homework so school isnt that bad but regular school sucks

school seems fine to me but the amount of homework is too much.

yeah at my school we have nine periods a day and each one lasts 35 minutes, but neraly all subjects last for a double or triple period, my favourite day is friday because this is how it goes:

-double ict (computer stuff with a teacher who lets us do whatever so i just go on games)
-break time
-double english which i like
-double free period which is even better as for lots of complicated reasons no one else even gets to have one
-lunch time and then all the schoool periods that are poitlessa dn no one does any work

if you think about it school is really kinda pointless, half the stuff you learn you never use, and the stuff you do use your employer could teach you in a fraction of the time

If you're planning on working a subsistence job that is.

Things that you learn that you'll never use are usually used as a tool to teach you how to think, something just as important as anything you learn that you DO use
besides, you'd be surprised what you do actually use

I can honestly say that I enjoy going to school, why? Because I enjoy learning, I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I'm one of those people that gets an almost euphoric feeling when I learn something new, by myself or from a teacher.

My only problem with school is the modern process, it used to be that one was sent to school to gain an education, to actually learn, now the obsession is college and then getting a good job. Hence the curriculum is focused less on students actually learning something and more on us memorizing facts and formulas and spitting them back out. It's boring, tedious and frankly I don't consider it education.

it isnt a very good one... which is why teachers at my school are trying to not do that to us... except the chemistry teacher (grrr) they enjoy trying to make us think, and the classes that i have that do this, i love. Last year my Bio teacher made us think, it was the hardest class i've ever taken, but i loved it and learned a TON.. this year my pre cal teacher makes me think and i look forward to his class every day
