This means that most of the "clever discussions" could go in the World Event section, if you really want this properly discussed, or if you want a lighter take on something, put it in the Tavern. I have seen many a philosophical thread in World Events, it is really just a - grown-up discussion, in some way. What you suggest is simply just a hybrid between World Events and the Tavern, and in reality it just depends on how serious a discussion you want, and how likely your topic is to provoke ReligionVSAtheists!! arguments. To some point, I would also say that equations and math problems for the sake of equations and math problems could easily be put in the forum games.

I think that users should read the Forum-Rules before anything, then just lurk around for a few minutes before even posting.

Luckily I tend to evolve a habit of deleting such threads whenever it happens often. Because if they can't take the time to read the description, or god forbid it, the rules for the section, the thread was obviously not very important.
Anyway, I find that the thread about an awesome equation I saw in the Tavern (probably made by you?) was correctly placed, (despite being without much content) as it is not a very serious thing.
To make a section of something - clever like that, would be like making an extra section for the AMW for "masterpieces" in my opinion. Neither happens often, and the cleverness/masterpieciousity is often selective to the thread-creator.

Anyway, as mentioned, currently there seem little use in this, and I assume the staff agrees, as there have been a good number of suggestions for new sections in this genre, and none of them have been made. Depending on how the AG3 forums will be, I am sure the mods and staff could end up discussing the different aspects of the forum and what content we wish to place where, and new sections might develop, but that is out in the future somewhere after the new site has been launched and so on.
