Also, being who I am, I am obviously going to pick Dannebrog.
Oldest national flag still in use, apparently, first to use the cross, if I remember correctly, and generally just awesome.
I think Cracked mentioned that the US was rather close to simply stealing this flag as their own because it is that awesome.
Further more, it is, by Danes, considered a rather happy symbol of (awesome and) peace, coziness and positive events, and is used mainly on birthdays, during national holidays, and when we go about flaunting it during sport events.
Besides, it is said to have fallen from the Heavens to the Danish people during a hard battle, and it caused the Danes to win.
As said, awesome.
I would say the flag of Wales is the best looking.
You pre-empted me by a bit. I like Cymru's flag, though that dragon disconcerts me.

I have something of an obsession with heraldic symbols, especially those double-headed eagles. Montenegro flag.

I don't like most of America's state flags, because they're laden with tired patriotic symbolism. New Mexico is an exception, and it has always caught my eye. I'm torn between it and the Californian flag.

Looks like smiley face to me. Flag of the North Caucasian Emirate, which coincidentally existed for only three years.
I like the flag, but Somalia is a failed nation. Pirates and all.
The Gadsden Flag is mildly entertaining.
I thought that Antigua and Barbuda flag because it has the sun rising in the ocean and it is pretty amazing.
Cambodia flag is pretty awesome too, the building structure in the flag is cool. I like blue and red together too.

St. Lucia's looks like a corporate logo.

Anyway, Moar flags:
The Guam flag, obviously. It's one of the only flags I know which actually has the country name on it.
I also like the Brunei flag. I've always liked flags with symbols, and the background goes pretty well with it.

But maybe the Kiribati flag is my favorite. It has a nice sunset and bird, and I like the colors used.
