Also, being who I am, I am obviously going to pick Dannebrog.
Oldest national flag still in use, apparently, first to use the cross, if I remember correctly, and generally just awesome. I think Cracked mentioned that the US was rather close to simply stealing this flag as their own because it is that awesome. Further more, it is, by Danes, considered a rather happy symbol of (awesome and) peace, coziness and positive events, and is used mainly on birthdays, during national holidays, and when we go about flaunting it during sport events. Besides, it is said to have fallen from the Heavens to the Danish people during a hard battle, and it caused the Danes to win. As said, awesome.
I have something of an obsession with heraldic symbols, especially those double-headed eagles. Montenegro flag.
Bhutan. There's something about that dragon..
I don't like most of America's state flags, because they're laden with tired patriotic symbolism. New Mexico is an exception, and it has always caught my eye. I'm torn between it and the Californian flag.
It's a bear. Come on, bears are awesome.
Looks like smiley face to me. Flag of the North Caucasian Emirate, which coincidentally existed for only three years.
I like the flag, but Somalia is a failed nation. Pirates and all.
