Please people pray for the Japanese they have been through so much the past couples. With family members either lost or dead and the suffering of being homeless and having nothing. Just please pray for them it would mean a lot ( i am already praying for them).

There are three things you can do: donate money, pray or go and help. Do everything you can. I don't have the money or the time so all I can do is pray. If you can do more, you should.

Neither does praying, so you are even!

If you are going to include praying, than you must include the other things I mentioned earlier...

But what if I can't donate money all I can do is pray and pray I shall.

Could help by directing people who can donate to places where they can make said donations.

I was predicting that as soon someone made a "pray for Japan" thread, there'd be someone disputing. At least the sentiment's in the right place. I don't feel like seeing the aggressive anti-theist bandwagon being brought to the Tavern.

My thoughts and prayers (don't rile me on that one) will be with those affected in Japan. Eh of course, you'll need to raise awareness of the matter or make a donation. I'll be looking into the latter.

Funny, you're able to acknowledge all your spelling errors but you don't bother to correct them.

Hmm.. ok I didn't read what has been written in here, but... seriously... WTF?? If you want to tell people to pray, then open a blog or whatnot. But this thread doesn't make sense. Not at all.

To quote:

Don't pray? Why not? Some people can't donate. Not everyone has the funds to do so. I'm not religious and I did do some donation for this, but I don't see what Praying harms.

That's like telling someone not to wish someone a happy birthday if they're not going to give them presents.

If all you can do is pray, then keep doing it. No, prayer doesn't help much. But the fact that you're thinking about it is better than nothing at all.

I have seen many a stupid argument on this elsewhere, I have seen many a stupid reason for why this horrible event is a good thing, I have seen many stupid reasons for why it would be a bad thing.

All I really wish to see if people caring about people, human caring about human, not using this disaster to argue, flame, ridicule, hate or be general jerks, whether it is intentional or coincidental.
Locking this simply because even in times where other people might need your help, whether you can actually help or not, people are going to be jerks.
Sad.
