If aliens would allow one person to tell them about our planet who should we send?
You can pick out of three persons: 1.Scientist: this man knows all about Earth, global warming and all stuff about the environment. 2.Politician: this man knows all about conflicts charisma and how to approach people. 3.Doctor:This man knows all about the human anatomy.
[b]Please do not put in your own suggestions, just pick one of the three.
Scientist since science is all around us. Also, a politician and a doctor are both scientists. A politician generally has a degree in political science and a doctor has a degree in some field of study.
I guess you all have a really negative image of politicians -sigh-
I agree that the scientist would be a good choice IF we'd already made contact with the aliens and were on good terms with them. However, think about it, the scientist might not be as... diplomatically-minded as the politician and might not have the same abilities when it comes to talking persuasively and carefully - if we want to create allies out of the aliens then we send the politician.

I'm agreeing with you on all counts. Most of the replies in this thread hint at some sort of stereotypically negative view of politics. Not all politicians are evil; if that was the case we would have been dead already. All of us.

People generally overlook that. Funny, since you can't expect to reach the top of the ladder in politics without having at least some shred of intelligence.
Now, I don't understand why'd you would send only one joker though if you are encountering some intelligent life form that isn't already hell-bent on killing us, you'll need a diplomat. If you'd actually want to inform the aliens of the intricacies of Earth, of course you'd send a scientist.
Wait, but then why one person? What an idiotic idea. The first page is also composed of fools.
we should send the most smartest and most honest faithful trustful confidant scientest on the planet so they wont lie about anything or say something like "we have technology to destroy you" you know something stupid to make them harm us
Definitly not a docter. why would we want aliens to now whats happening in our bodies? A politation would seem good because he could trick them, the only problem would be of trusting him. If we send a scientist hopefully he'll come back with information on their technology and not the other way around.
Scientist all the way. We are telling them about the Earth, and ecology and biology are scientific fields.
Politician? Suuurreee, let's send a lying BS artist to tell a superior race about our planet.
I don't think a doctor is close enough. With the OP talking about Earth, human anatomy is rather specific, and somewhat off-topic.
Now, I don't think the aliens would have evil intentions if they began contact with us. The aliens have the technology to travel millions, maybe billions of lightyears to reach Earth. With that technology, don't you think they'd already know nearly everything about us? If they were evil, they wouldn't initiate contact. They'd just come in and BADABOOM.
