I've been asked a lot what music I like a lot so I'll give an example. I don't like heavy metal and I don't like pop that much so hear is what I do like.
The Arctic Monkeys. Rock band, but not heavy metal. It is simply rock.

The Shins are fine. I have more of their songs in my library than the Arctic Monkeys but the Shins have been here longer and have released more albums.
