I grew up atheist for 16 years. I had always kept an open mind towards religion, but never really felt a need to believe in it. My sister started going to a Wednesday night children's program at a church. Eventually, I was dragged into a Christmas Eve service. Scoffing, I reluctantly went, assuming that this was going to be a load of crap, but when I went, I felt something. Something that I've never felt before. I felt a sense of empowerment and a sense of calling. Jesus called upon my soul, just like he did with his disciples. he wanted me to follow him. Now, my life is being lived for Christ. He died on the cross for my sins, and the sins of everyone who believes in him. He was beaten, brutalized, struck with a whip 39 times, made to carry a cross up to the stage of his death. This I believe to be true, and I can never repay him for what he has done.
I still have my struggles with Christianity, but I've found this bit of information most useful. Religion is not comprehensible in the human mind, because we cannot comprehend the idea of a perfect and supreme being, a God, but we can believe it in our heart, and that's the idea of faith. Faith is, even though everything rides against me believing in Jesus, I still believe in him because I know that it's true in my heart. I invite my fellow Brothers and sisters of the LORD to talk about how Jesus has helped you in your life. No atheists and no insults please

I wish AG would give us tea... but to talk about the subjects that contain so much we don't know, what's the use?

-The innumerable amount of trolls on this thread, both athiest and theist, but mostly athiest. Actually, all atheist.
-The strange fact that almost nobody is trolling the "Atheism FtW" thread.
-The number of lines from The Holy Book used against Christians. If you want to talk about The Bible so much, GO TO CHURCH!

>.> I used this to make a point. You used this to be ignorant and troll. You're not adding to the discussion, you're just being stupid. Not to mention biased. At least I am open to the idea that I may be wrong. Can you say the same?

Yes, I wish they would too. There is the pursuit of knowledge and trying to improve our life conditions. All people have some drive to learn more. If we didn't then we wouldn't be on this forum relaxing with debates we would be hunting mammoths or some animals and a quest for survival.

1. Ugh public school sex ed getting to you? I'll have to assume that's where you went, because If you went private then you're screwed. Giving a basketful of condoms to the africans and saying 'use 'em" Doesn't work. BECAUSE AIDS AREN'T GONE. And America has done that, by the way.

I'm not being stupid, just pointing out that nobody is trolling your little disscusion. If you want to talk about how wrong we are, go discuss it in YOUR THREAD.

And I am open to the fact I am wrong. Just the atheists are not.

3. Dude condoms don't stop AIDS.

They help prevent the transfer of fluids, thus help prevent the transfer of the virus.

You're wrong? Sorry couldn't help it.

Darkroot, I know there's a drive for knowledge and that's what got us this far, but there just doesn't seem to be much knowledge floating around here, if I humbly say myself. Just a bunch of... you know... trolls. >.>

You know trolling doesn't lead to an actually debate, it's just spam with little intellectual value or none.

But here on the other-hand we have a lot of people arguing about a topic thus they must not be trolling. People need to stop attaching trolling to what they perceive as being a dumb argument.

Yeah I know, that's why I'm connecting trolls to the lack of intelligence in here, because everyone with a brain is busy yelling at them.

Mage, man they help, but no condom is nonporous. There's always gonna be a itsy bitsy (wtf?) hole, and viruses are VERY small.

I do recall a number of theists saying how nothing would change their minds, I don't see this from the atheist group.

I agree, all we require is theist to post some concrete proof that isn't cyclic logic from the bible, abusing probabilities and based on faith.

"Claims that latex condoms allow HIV to pass through are unfounded. The pores of latex condoms are too small to allow HIV to pass through. Condoms have been shown to be effective barriers not only to HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, but also to herpes simplex, CMV, hepatitis B, chlamydia and gonorrhea."
