I grew up atheist for 16 years. I had always kept an open mind towards religion, but never really felt a need to believe in it. My sister started going to a Wednesday night children's program at a church. Eventually, I was dragged into a Christmas Eve service. Scoffing, I reluctantly went, assuming that this was going to be a load of crap, but when I went, I felt something. Something that I've never felt before. I felt a sense of empowerment and a sense of calling. Jesus called upon my soul, just like he did with his disciples. he wanted me to follow him. Now, my life is being lived for Christ. He died on the cross for my sins, and the sins of everyone who believes in him. He was beaten, brutalized, struck with a whip 39 times, made to carry a cross up to the stage of his death. This I believe to be true, and I can never repay him for what he has done.
I still have my struggles with Christianity, but I've found this bit of information most useful. Religion is not comprehensible in the human mind, because we cannot comprehend the idea of a perfect and supreme being, a God, but we can believe it in our heart, and that's the idea of faith. Faith is, even though everything rides against me believing in Jesus, I still believe in him because I know that it's true in my heart. I invite my fellow Brothers and sisters of the LORD to talk about how Jesus has helped you in your life. No atheists and no insults please

Challenge the ignorant, absurd, and/or faith based claims that are inevitable

if you are a christian what is your goal here?

I take it this was an attempt to provide the type of non answer reply we often get from theists?

I'm out of this. There is no logical way to discuss anything with flamers.
Good luck everyone.

My goal WAS to ask questions, but, yet again, as alt put it, they were dodged.

He's not being flamed, we are not trying to start like a fight or something (well at-least me). Stop acting like he was a victim. It's annoying.

And in comes number two again!

It's also fairly annoying when anything you say at all is responded to by, "Dude stop trolling/flaming/hating/etc.." It's not trolling or flaming to ask a question, and just because you can't answer the question doesn't make it not a valid question that you shouldn't have to at least semi-look into in order to back up your point.

These threads are so obvious as to what will happen.

You might not be, but I can name at least 5 who just love to make a Christian leave the thread.
In all honesty they are victims. People that try to make a Christian contradict themselves just so they can be 'right'. They are equally as ignorant as they claim the Christian to be.
WEPR used to be a place where people could actually share opinions and not get shot down for them. Now it is a place for a couple of bullies that are atheists to find new ways to make a Christian look pwnd.
Anyone is entitled to their opinion, and yes while you see Christians trying to sway you to their side, they do it a bit more peacefully than some atheists around here.

Pyro congratulations. Sincerely I'm happy that you found a calling. The only way the atheist can feel like they have control or a grasp on reality is feeling that they need to rebut every single religious comment with pseudo-science that they are superior in intellect and understanding. Don't worry about arguing with them, there's honestly no point. Don't let it affect you my friend that's the only way they get the satisfaction. They would give you a list of fallacies yet in essence the fallacies they claim are a humanistic fallacy in it's own. Even the most intelligent people in the world only have the brain compacity to know 3% of knowledge that human information holds throughout the world, let alone the universe. Again I'm happy for you, and I hope the good spirit keeps up Morals are morals and the lack of that is what the scientific theories boil down to.

Actually we are giving scientific evidence against pseudo-science. Since part of what makes some atheists atheist is logic and reasoning we like to point out provably false statements. Do some take it a little far? Yes of course, but not everyone.
