My friend and I cant decide what the answer to this question is. Any answers? Question: A smoothie consists of strawberries and rasberries. The strawberry to rasberry ratio is 4:12. What percentage of the smoothie is made of strawberries? (assume the strawberry and rasberry are the same size) Answer: 25% or 33.3% (thirty three and one third percent) I think it's 25%.
The answer is 25%. The question is asking the percentage of the strawberries in the drink. The drink is the total of raspberries and strawberries. The problem gave you the ratio of the strawberries to the raspberries. Like I said before, you are finding the TOTAL to the strawberries so you add 4 and 12 together which is 16. 16 is the total. the ratio of the strawberries and the drink is 4 to 16. If you simplify the ratio 4 to 16, it would become 1 to 4. If you make 1 to 4 a percentage, it would be 25%.
