I can't tell which one is better without looking at comparison charts, but they both are already pretty aged. If you have other choices available, go here: [url=http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-graphics-card-geforce-gtx-590-radeon-hd-6990,2879.html], pick one that you can afford (and are willing to) and stick with that choice.
i am assuming these are for the xbox or ps3? any way.... I'm assuming that the on with the larger number is a later model, in which case, if it a fordable, you should get that one because it probably has some improvements over the other. could you give us more information about them?

GeForce 9 series is out of date. If you are looking to upgrade your pc, then you may as well be up to date, otherwise you are just wasting your money. I have used this site quite a lot because they offer great prices for parts that are actually good, link. I haven't had a problem with them yet. Here I found a great deal; Gainward GeForce GTX 460 for £147. It's over 90 dollars but that price such a graphics card is definitely worth it. If you are worried about your computer being able to handle it, then you can read on the system requirements here; http://www.gainward.com/main/product/vga/pro/p00394/p00394_datasheet_17714c3a808d97f19.pdf?s=496
If that isn't for you, then the site offers some of the lower end of the 400 series. You may have to search for the requirements on the specific manufacturer sites, but you are generally safe with a 400+W power supply and PCI-E 2.0 graphics slot. You may have to upgrade your processor to make better use of the graphics cards, but remember that processors are important in performance too.
There shouldn't be much problem with having a system that has a motherboard with, say, an nVidia chipset and an ATI video card. Just make sure the slot type your motherboard uses is compatible with your new card.
Can you find out the exact model of your motherboard and your current video card?
I'd find the numbers from benchmarking these cards, but unfortunately, I'm a bit sedated right now.
Can you find out the exact model of your motherboard and your current video card? I know that my card is a nivdia geforce 7350 and idk what my motherboard is
