It's been so long since I joined one of these.... here we go. I'm a bit rusty.
Will you put on your finest armor? With gleaming breastplate and red shield- Unsheathe your sharpest weapon To once again fight death. Return in triumph, We'll welcome home The greatest Hero, You.
There's only 99 words total in the submitted entries. That means if you read just one word per hour, it would take you 4.125 days (4 days, 3 hours). Therefore, judging shouldn't take longer than that. Just saying.
My internet was of for 2 days, so I hope you will forgive this lateness.
3rd Place: EmperorPalpatine
The quest begins with a single step; A trek to regain my true love: For she was taken from me, By a lame loathsome brute, While I was away. I shall prevail, Valiant; Fearless; Brave.
This poem pleases me, but lacks the charm and sway the other poems had. A decent effort still, it is.
2nd Place:
Will you put on your finest armor? With gleaming breastplate and red shield- Unsheathe your sharpest weapon To once again fight death. Return in triumph, We'll welcome home The greatest Hero, You.
I liked the repetition of the superlativ in the first and third line. It really added the feel of embarking on a quest with it. This poem also makes me think of the first zelda.
1st Place: Jeol
How do heroes embark on their quests? Are they always valiant men? Or are they simple persons? Are they common, like me? Yet, heroes commit To challenges, And end as Victors, All.
The thought of "a common hero" really appeals to me in this poem. There are no major faults in form and spelling, so I must give this on the first prize.
I rose from the slums to reach this point. As to gain such authority I, the ruler of the world, Dominant above you. I shall seek revenge. Those filthy scum who Caused me pain Shall End Tonight.
I rose from the slums to reach this point. As to gain such authority I, the ruler of the world, Dominant above you. I shall seek revenge. The scum who Caused me pain Shall End Now.
I rose from the slums to reach this point. As to gain such authority I, the ruler of the world, Dominant above you. I shall seek revenge. All the scum who Caused me pain Shall End Now.
I've defeated countless enemies; A massive crowd of opponents: No one shall stand in my way. I have made the order To ensure my rule: Conformity! They will bow, Or they Die.
A Nonet ay. Might as well put my poetic ability to the test.
All Hail
By being owner of all your souls, My power shall not be surpassed. Hark to me at my commands, Or ye shall face the one Who kills on the spot. Bow before me. Your freedom Is now Mine.
