2010 was regarded by F1 fans as one of the most interesting, a real refreshing breakthrough after the one-man show that was Schumacher. Now Schumacher is back in the mix, but as yet is still finding form with Mercedes GP in the midfield, where the competition runs hotter than ever between emerging greats and in-form veterans alike. Last year was a fantastic battle that went down to the last race between Button, Hamilton, Webber, Alonso and eventual champion Vettel, the youngest in the sport's history. The Winter off-season was also full of drama, notably the crash and departure of formidable Renault talent Kubica. Now F1 is back and with the new KERS and new tyre supplier in Pirelli, many questions have been thrown up. How will the tyre strategy evolve to Pirelli's brief to make a tyre that degrades faster? What will come of the teams' different ability to implement KERS- Red Bull in particular seem to be struggling with its reliability. Yet despite those troubles Vettel still appears to be in dominating form, does this herald the coming of the new era of a racing genius, or will Vettel's impetuous nature and youth cost him in terms of consistency as it did last year?

Bahrain was cancelled due to the political unrest in the Middle East, and Melbourne was very much tentative feeling about in the wake of Vettel's Button-like performance a year ago. At the time of this posting, Malaysia has proved to be a very interesting race, how will it all turn out?

This is the thread for discussion of the F1 2011 season. Opinions, results postings, even some light barracking welcomed.

Malaysia again showed that this year's season will be much like last. Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch it live, but I read the summary of it. I have to say that I'm dejected that the ferraris are not doing any better than they are. Maybe they'll improve as the season goes on, but who knows.
