The kingdom will be based on votes by users who post here and a succession system. These are the positions:
1 King 1 Prince 1 High Noble 2 Lower Nobles 5 Knights
These positions will initially be elected by vote of users. This is how the voting works:
Post 5 users vertically. Here's an example:
User 1 User 2 User 3 User 4 User 5
User 1 would gain 8 points, User 2 would gain 6 points, User 3 would gain 4 points, User 4 would gain 2 points, and User 5 would gain 1 point.
Whoever has the most votes is the King, the next one is the Prince, followed by the High Noble, and so on. The initial voting will go until April 15th and that will determine the kingdom for April 2011. This is how the succession works:
The Prince of the current month is guaranteed to be the King next month. The other positions are determined by vote. On the 26th of the current month, voting will begin for next month. Voting ends on the 1st of the new month. On my profile is the current kingdom.
King: Ernie15 by virtue of succession. Prince: Cenere with 16 points and MageGrayWolf with 16 points. High Nobles: thisisnotanalt with 12 points, Zophia with 12 points, and GhostOfMatrix with 12 points Lower Noble: Google567 with 10 points. Knights: Strop with 9 points, knight_34 with 6 points, and skater_kid_who_pwns with 6 points. Honorable Mention: LivingToDie, Graham, and CalvinDultrey with 4 points each, and darkrai097 and 4 others with 2 points.
If I did it like that, the system would be top heavy, which is what I don't want. Therefore, I will keep the system and handle tiebreakers the way I explained it.
Here's a diagram of users per rank to show what I mean:
Original:
x x x xx xxxxx
Suggestion:
x xx xxx x xxx
Hopefully, those diagrams will show why I do it the way I do it.
It is now June 1st and I am closing the voting for now. Here are the results for the voting:
King: Cenere by virtue of succession. Prince: Freakenstein with 30 points. High Noble: knight_34 with 26 points. Lower Nobles: MageGrayWolf with 15 points and Strop with 13 points. Knights: MoonFairy with 13 points, firetail_madness with 12 points, TackyCrazyTNT with 10 points, CalvinDultrey with 8 points, and Paarfam with 7 points. Honorable Mention: Xzeno with 7 points, IcyIndia, Asherlee, and GhostOfMatrix with 6 points each, and ProfessorOak and 3 others with 4 points each.
Somebody voted for Cenere, which was not allowed, so I didn't count that. After removing the Cenere vote, there were 22 different users with votes. The next vote will be on June 26th.
But why are you waiting so long to do the next vote?
By waiting a long time, I make the positions more realistic than if I let votes happen frequently.
Another suggestion;
x xx xxx xxxx
If you don't like it I prefer your suggestion; I don't like the original.
I have already said no to the first suggestion, and I am saying no to this one because that has only 4 ranks and I want 5.
NOTE: If you want to suggest an alternative ranking system, you may do so. However, a suggestion will automatically be declined if it breaks one of the following rules:
1) A suggestion must have 5 ranks. 2) There can only be 1 King and 1 Prince. 3) There must be more Knights than High Nobles.
