Well,i have my own religion,please read carefully as to not induce misunderstandings.
I believe that god exists,and I pray for Jesus,until we find out who god really is,i continue to pray for Jesus,and i hope that god sees this prayer as a prayer to him in general,even if he is not Jesus. When we find out who he is, i will believe in him. Until then,i simply believe in god.
As for why we're Atheists - there are a number of different reasons really. Some people grew up as a certain religion and then deconverted once they got a better understanding of things and could make their own decisions, some people just never actually believed in any god(s) and some people just want to see adequate proof of some deity before believing in them - bear in mind that those are only the main reasons that I can think of off of the top of my head.
I am a Christian. I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. I believe He died for us and forgave us of our sins. Why? Because I am saved. God saved me. I choose to not become of this world any longer. No more pain, suffering and falsehood. I choose to accept God. I choose to live a life of peace and I choose to be with my Father Jesus in the end in his Kingdom of Heaven. I choose eternal life and forgiveness. Jesus Christ is God. That's what I believe.
